My brother pointed me to this video on You Tube. It is hysterical.

Hilarious....and one of those video projects that simply HAD to happen sooner or later.

There is also a YouTube clip of "The Doors" doing "Stairway To Heaven". Whoever the band was, they did a more than creditable imitation of the original.

Ahh, there's nothing like a good didgeridoo to get ya' going in the morning! :)

I sort of like that version in a strange sort of way.

Dolly Parton covered it also - see http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hRKob3HOcqQ. (The visuals are in Spanish but the recording is Dolly). Tempo changes from slow at the beginning and speeds up to end. Almost sounds like a religious revival!

This one is by Little Roger and the Goosebumps. Sounds very much like Led Zep - except for the words. They discovered that the theme from Gilligan's Island fit the music perfectly - so they used those words instead. Don't know if the same can be done with Janis's music. Would have an audience baffled but not really professional after a couple of bars (of music).

Check it out at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KTCYLbFxTpI .

I wonder what happens when you play these backwards?

Why, DaveM, the guy probably swallows his Didgereedoo.

There are several backwards versions of "Stairway to Heaven", each of them including printed lyrics which are what one is supposed to hear in the reversed vocals. Naturally, they're all supposed to be Satanic or some such. Funny thing is that the majority of them are incoherent, and each of the versions listed has a different idea of what the reversed lyrics are supposed to be.

Not surprisingly, if you listen to this with your eyes closed or scroll the "prompting" off your screen, you'll discover that "Stairway to Heaven" played backwards sounds like pretty much any other song played backwards and makes about as much sense.

One does have to wonder about the mentality of the presumably fundamentalist Christian people who put this sort of thing together....how many hours must they put into looking for the devil when they should be out being pious, attending church, and loving their neighbors? God, I have little doubt, is not amused.

Fans of backwards lyrics may be amused to learn that The Doors' "Break On Through" contains a line "treasures there...." which reverses to a perfect "I am Satan". This despite the fact that The Doors' first album was recorded directly to two-track, most of it in one or two takes, and in such a hurry that I can't imagine anyone taking the time to do this deliberately.

Mind, I suspect Jim Morrison would have a good laugh over it.
