(Or is that Absent-Minded Rudie?)

Wow, you all must think I lost the address to this site... It's been a while! Too long, in fact.

Regardless, here's an update coming to you via Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.

As you might recall, I moved back to Ohio from Washington after failing to complete my Master's degree that got too dang expensive. I moved back in my with my partner, Adam, in July last year and began to search for gainful employment. All I was able to find was rather worthless employment at a bank. And with the economy tanking, prospects weren't looking bright. Dozens of applications later, I finally got a career-oriented job in my field! Hooray! And it triples my current income. Worries be gone!

I'll be working at Kenyon College as a microbiology research assistant. The profess I'll be working with is well-known for her research on bacteria, which I will be able to join in on and get published. Excitement abounds. I start in mid-April, so I've got some time, but it's going to be great to get back into a lab environment and work with bacteria.

Not much else is new. I'm in Phoenixville, PA visiting my sister right now. Oh! And I preordered my copy of Janis's book through a local bookstore. Can't wait. :)

Anyway, I hope to be clicking back on through this site regularly again. But you never know. I am, after all, now an absent-minded professor('s assistant). ;)

Missed you all! What's new in your lives?

Hey, KIT! We missed you! So happy to hear that you've got your dream job, and Kenyon's a good school...most of them in Ohio are...and your future is opening to you. Best to you and Adam for a bright future amidst the gloom.
So don't be a stranger...come back and see us once in a while (=often).

How is your funny cousin doing these days? Very talented gal!

Man am I glad to see you back and nice to read what you have been up to.

So you are working, that is good....with bacteria....is that good:confused: I will not go more into that at these stages....just glad to see you back, alive and kicking.

Congrats! With any luck, you'll get credited on a pub and be able to parlay that into a fellowship to finish your degree.

Will you be coming to Pittsburg?

Don't be such a stranger, eh?

As long as I'm still allowed to be strange!

Thanks for the warm welcome back, everyone :)

gisli, don't worry, I'll be careful with the bacteria. I'll be working with harmless E. coli and a couple other species.

Ace, that's the great hope. This prof seems to publish quite often, so I'm sure I'll be getting in on it. Future here I come! Is there a thread on Pittsburgh details? I missed quite a bit, but I'll search for it. If all goes well, Pittsburgh is only 3 hours away from where I live and getting there should be no big deal.

Bat, Nice to see you, too! My cousin is actually about ready to release another CD. Check out her myspace page (http://www.myspace.com/kristinkitko). The song titled "i am not walmart" is the title song on the CD.

Hey stranger, and welcome back... you sound busy. Any word on the LMAO? Did it become missing in action? Best wishes on your new job... and get rest while you can; it sounds like you'll be very busy in a few weeks! Best, Elliott

Loved Kristin's site, hadn't been there for a while, and the new songs are very good and funny...she has talent coming out her ears! I assume it's all her playing guitar and harmonica, etc...very bright and funny gal, her reviews are awesome...let me know if she ever comes to Ohio--I'd love to meet her!! Thanks.
