Mother's Day = Bill Cosby!

Tickets went on sale at 10 this morning, and I was there when they opened the box office. I will be less than 2 weeks post-op from my hip surgery, so I had to make sure I could get an aisle seat.

I've been a Bill Cosby fan since I was 13, and still have the vinyl from those early years. Both of my girls love comedians, too, and they like Bill Cosby. Ned's not big on comedians, but he likes Bill Cosby, so he's going.

Back in the '80s, I met him at a book signing in Chicago and even got to kiss him on the cheek.

I'm excited!

Must say that I'm with Ned when it comes to most comedians, but I adore Bill Cosby, and Kate Clinton.
Back when I was a kid, I used to love Jack Benny, Fred Allen, The Great Gildersleeve, and of course Bob Hope--they were pretty darned funny! Later on I loved Peter Schickele and Tom Lehrer...both very clever guys, and I understood the 'classical music inside jokes'.
Sometimes I think what passes for comedians these days is pretty lame, but I'm sure there are some good ones out there.
