Actually, we have two - and identical twins, no less!
Our thanks to Sara Beth Jonassen and her sister, Gabrielle Jonassen-Moore, for their fabulous ad idea. Janis has asked that we not post it yet, because she wants to save it for the next newsletter.
To all 67 of you who sent in ideas, they were terrific - the winner(s) idea just happened to completely suit everyone's purpose, from the publisher to the record affiliate to the booking and literary agents.
Wonderful job to everyone, and thank you from all of us!
Many congratulations, ladies!!

Thanks for letting us in on the good news Judy! I can't wait to see it. Congratulations to the winners. I'm sure you all feel that a weight has been lifted and you can breathe a bit easier. But I suspect there's still a lot to do in preparation for the big day.

I say we are all winners! We get to be Janis Ian fans! I'm already looking for the book at Barnes and Noble... wishful thinking, plus, I'm getting old. I'm going to hole up and read the book very slowly.... I won't even let my lips move. Any chance we could get to proof the new book before it goes to print? I work cheap... like, I'll pay for the privledge! Congratulations to the twins!

Welcome to the forums, Twins!

I was wondering if we'd hear from you, not recognizing your names when Janis told us of your winning design.

Gisli,

Janis told us she'll be posting it in the newsletter. That's less than a week from now!

And when will Kathleen Brogan get a copy that's still in the original shrinkwrap?

Hello again - Sara Beth here!

I am an artist (graphic design and fine art), yes, and a fiction writer too! Hoping to get my website back up really soon (down for repairs) so I can share some of my work with you nice people! In the meantime, I can't wait to read all about the ad mat in Janis' next newsletter - not long now! You could say it was a moment of good fortune, or serendipity maybe, coming up with the right phrase. I was thinking, "What would catch my attention if I were riding the subway back in NYC?" - my hometown. Gabrielle helped me iron out all the wrinkles, and push the envelope with the design itself, and that's all there was to it!

Thanks, Agnes, for the congrats.

And hey, Kathleen - I am DEFINITELY the evil twin! Much more fun, I say. ;)

Cheers!
Sara Beth
