Nah, she can't be for real. She is a comedian having a go at Southern christian fundamentalists surely.:D
Unfortunately not, Lucille. But here's one link to a site that is a parody that will put that woman in the shade. Betty Bowers is outrageously funny in print!

Welcome to the JIMB, Just Me.
As a clueless straight person, will someone please fill me in on exactly what the "homosexual agenda" is???? I feel I really need to know, since, as the Representative states, "the gays" are infiltrating all aspects of society and civilization, and are clearly on the way to world domination. I don't want to be caught on the wrong side of the power shift. . .

Randy, darling.. you may be straight, but I would never say you are clueless.
The Gay Agenda.. is.. well.. to take over the world with Fabulousness and Peace....
...and there is so much resistance!
Seriously.. the Gay Agenda doesn't exist except in the minds of narrow thinking straight people. To have an agenda, there would have to be an agreement. Have you ever been in a meeting with 10 lesbians?

Not knowingly. Although I have had similar experiences in meetings of Unitarian Universalists and academics.

Has anyone else noticed that there is not one original phrase in her entire diatribe? It is all lifted verbatim from various hate-group and hate-church literature.
The closest I have ever gotten to a definition of "the homosexual agenda" from someone of this mentality was along the lines of "well, they want people to accept that what they're doing is all right!" Multiple clueless awards needed there, I think.
"Studies show, no society that has totally embraced homosexuality has lasted for more than, you know, a few decades". Do you suppose she can name either the studies or the societies? I'll bet she can't.
You know what's even scarier than the idea of someone spouting this crap? The fact that a majority of voters elected this, er, person.
And you should see our secret Gay handshake!

It goes like this...you put your left hand in, you take your left hand out, you put your left hand in and you shake it all about. You do the hokey-pokey ...etc. :D
You can also substitute the right hand for the left if you prefer.

Gosh....someone gave away the secret! Someone will have to think of a new handshake.
Dear Sally Kern:
Thank you for doing so much to educate people regarding God's Law. I have learned a great deal from your speech, and try to share that knowledge with as many people as I can. When someone tries to defend the homosexual lifestyle, for example, I simply remind them that Leviticus 18:22 clearly states it to be an abomination ... end of debate.
I do need some advice from you, however, regarding some other elements of God's Laws and how to follow them.
1. Leviticus 25:44 states that I may possess slaves, both male and female, provided they are purchased from neighboring nations. A friend of mine claims that this applies to Mexicans, but not Canadians. Can you clarify? Why can't I own Canadians?
2. I would like to sell my daughter into slavery, as sanctioned in Exodus 21:7. In this day and age, what do you think would be a fair price for her?
3. I know that I am allowed no contact with a woman while she is in her period of menstrual uncleanliness - Lev.15: 19-24. The problem is how do I tell? I have tried asking, but most women take offense.
4. When I burn a bull on the altar as a sacrifice, I know it creates a pleasing odor for the Lord - Lev.1:9. The problem is, my neighbors. They claim the odor is not pleasing to them. Should I smite them?
5. I have a neighbor who insists on working on the Sabbath. Exodus 35:2. clearly states he should be put to death. Am I morally obligated to kill him myself, or should I ask the police to do it?
6. A friend of mine feels that even though eating shellfish is an abomination - Lev. 11:10, it is a lesser abomination than homosexuality. I don't agree. Can you settle this? Are there 'degrees' of abomination?
7. Lev. 21:20 states that I may not approach the altar of God if I have a defect in my sight. I have to admit that I wear reading glasses. Does my vision have to be 20/20, or is there some wiggle-room here?
8. Most of my male friends get their hair trimmed, including the hair around their temples, even though this is expressly forbidden by Lev. 19:27. How should they die?
9. I know from Lev. 11:6-8 that touching the skin of a dead pig makes me unclean, but may I still play football if I wear gloves?
10. My uncle has a farm. He violates Lev.19:19 by planting two different crops in the same field, as does his wife by wearing garments made of two different kinds of thread (cotton/polyester blend). He also tends to curse and blaspheme a lot. Is it really necessary that we go to all the trouble of getting the whole town together to stone them? Lev.24:10-16. Couldn't we just burn them to death at a private family affair, like we do with people who sleep with their in-laws? (Lev. 20:14)
I know you have studied these things extensively and thus enjoy considerable expertise in such matters, so I am confident you can help. Thank you again for reminding us that God's word is eternal and unchanging.

Gay-Bashing Congresswoman Exaggerated Death Threats (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/03/12/gaybashing-congresswoman_n_91269.html)
March 12, 2008 11:26 PM
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is sorting through nearly 7,000 e-mails that were sent to a state lawmaker after she said homosexuality is a bigger threat to the United States than terrorism.
Comments by Rep. Sally Kern, recorded several weeks ago but placed on the Internet site YouTube only late last week, have caused a national outcry, resulting in more than 500,000 hits on the Web site.
A fellow lawmaker contacted the OSBI on Monday and suggested that agents go through the e-mails, some of which might be threatening, OSBI spokeswoman Jessica Brown said.
Kern said Monday that she had not received death threats. On Tuesday, she said, "It's changed," but she did not elaborate.
Brown said Tuesday, "There are a lot of e-mails to the representative that say, 'You ought to die,' rather than, 'I am going to kill you.'
"I wouldn't characterize them as death threats," she said.

Naturally, the brave "moralist" will now claim she is a victim. Do you suppose she'll be going into rehab soon?
I’d be interested in reading “The Homosexual Agenda” if anyone has a copy. I want to make sure I’m being Gay correctly after all.

Can you send me a copy when you get it, Dee? After all, there must be an agenda for heteros as well and it'd be a shame if we got them all mixed up. I mean, is listening to Jane Olivor and assorted showtunes an appropriate part of "the heterosexual lifestyle"?
Maybe the guy who gave Sally her first ride in a back seat could help explain it to us all. Assuming he can be located....no one ever seems to admit to having premarital sex with a Republican.
Can you send me a copy when you get it, Dee?
If such a thing existed, I would be glad to share it with you, Dave. But like the fabled unicorn, I’m pretty sure it doesn’t.
(Don't tell Simple Sally tho. Her head might implode if she finds out.)

Well, rumour has been circulating the past couple of days that Sally's son Jesse is actually Gay and that she has disowned him for it. But today Jesse has come forth to clarify things (thank goodness). Maybe now all those gossiping, bitchy, crankypants types will shut up about it!
Sally Kern's son denies reports he is Gay
OKLAHOMA CITY -- The son of a state lawmaker who has condemned homosexuality as a worse threat to the U.S. than "terrorists or Islam" said Friday he wants it known that he is "straight and not gay."
Jesse Kern, son of Rep. Sally Kern, R-Oklahoma City, said information purporting that he is gay, which has appeared on several blogs, is damaging to himself and his family.
Kern, 31, said he feels the media has a responsibility to seek out the truth, then report it.
Kern, who said he is affiliated with the Des Moines School of Metaphysics, said that he chooses to be celibate, but he is not homosexual.
"First of all, no one's sexuality is anyone's business. It is not even my mother's business," he said. "I practice celibacy to give to my God," he said.
Kern said metaphysics helps teach him such things such as concentration, which has helped him keep focused with all the adverse publicity surrounding his mother's comments.
Kern said his mother's comments apparently were taken out of context. He has not chosen to listen to the audio version that has been disseminated widely throughout the nation.
Kern's views differ from those of his mother, although he applauds her for standing up for what she believes, and thanks his parents for his good upbringing. His father is a Baptist minister in Oklahoma City.
He said the purpose of sex is reproduction, and it is the function of the animal body.
"But we are more than animals, and we can use sex for a tool of deep relationship with another person."
Kern added that what is more important than whether it be a relationship with someone of the same sex, is that there "needs to be honor in any relationship whether it is a straight or gay relationship."

I wonder what the Congresswoman thinks about this sort of thing? Also wonder what sort of job you can get with a degree from this place.

A Letter to Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern, from 18-Year-Old Tucker
Article Date: 03/13/2008 By Tucker
The following letter was sent our way via a field director for Equality Florida. Eighteen year old Tucker attempted to deliver this letter to Oklahoma Rep. Sally Kern after her hateful words comparing gays to terrorists, but was prevented from doing so by a highway patrol officer. As a result, Tucker's family members began circulating the letter in its entirety. Please be moved, as we were, by the powerful words of this remarkable young man.
Rep Kern:
On April 19, 1995 in Oklahoma City, a terrorist detonated a bomb that killed my mother and 167 others. Nineteen children died that day. Had I not had the chicken pox that day, the body count would've likely have included one more. Over 800 other Oklahomans were injured that day and many of those still suffer through their permanent wounds.
That terrorist was neither a homosexual nor was he involved in Islam. He was an extremist Christian forcing his views through a body count. He held his beliefs and made those who didn't live up to them pay with their lives.
As you were not a resident of Oklahoma on that day, it could be explained why you so carelessly chose words saying that the homosexual agenda is worse than terrorism. I can most certainly tell you through my own experience that is not true. I am sure there are many people in your voting district that laid a loved one to death after the terrorist attack on Oklahoma City. I kind of doubt you'll find one of them that will agree with you.
I was five years old when my mother died. I remember what a beautiful, wise and remarkable woman she was. I miss her. Your harsh words and misguided beliefs brought me to tears, because you told me that my mother's killer was a better person than a group of people who are seeking safety and tolerance for themselves.
As someone left motherless and victimized by terrorists, I say to you very clearly you are absolutely wrong. You represent a district in Oklahoma City and you very coldly express a lack of love, sympathy or understanding for what they've been through. Can I ask if you might have chosen wiser words were you a real Oklahoman that was here to share the suffering with Oklahoma City? Might your heart be a bit less cold had you been around to see the small bodies of children being pulled out of rubble and carried away by weeping firemen?
I've spent 12 years in Oklahoma public schools and never once have I had anyone try to force a gay agenda on me. I have seen, however, many gay students beat up and there's never a day in school that has gone by when I haven't heard the word f****t slung at someone. I've been called gay slurs many times and they hurt and I am not even gay so I can just imagine how a real gay person feels. You were a school teacher and you have seen those things too. How could you care so little about the suffering of some of your students?
Let me tell you the result of your words in my school. Every openly gay and suspected gay in the school were having to walk together Monday for protection. They looked scared. They've already experienced enough hate and now your words gave other students even more motivation to sneer at them and call them names. Afterall, you are a teacher and a lawmaker, many young people have taken your words to heart. That happens when you assume a role of responsibility in your community. I seriously think before this week ends that some kids here will be going home bruised and bloody because of what you said.
I wish you could've met my mom. Maybe she could've guided you in how a real Christian should be acting and speaking.
I have not had a mother for nearly 13 years now and wonder if there were fewer people like you around, people with more love and tolerance in their hearts instead of strife, if my mom would be here to watch me graduate from high school this spring. Now she won't be there. So I'll be packing my things and leaving Oklahoma to go to college elsewhere and one day be a writer and I have no intentions to ever return here. I have no doubt that people like you will incite crazy people to build more bombs and kill more people again. I don't want to be here for that. I just can't go through that again.
You may just see me as a kid, but let me try to teach you something. The old saying is sticks and stones will break your bones, but words will never hurt you. Well, your words hurt me. Your words disrespected the memory of my mom. Your words can cause others to pick up sticks and stones and hurt others.
Sincerely, Tucker
DaveM

A hearty round of applause to Tucker.
Not without some concern, however. This does not read like the words of an 18 year old. Eloquent though they are, I would not be terribly surprised to discover that this is just one of those e-mail forwards that "should be true", but very possibly is not.
Indeed, I am not alone in my concerns. See: http://citizenchris.typepad.com/citizenchris/2008/03/sally-kerns-urb.html
I think an articulate and caring 18 year old could very well have written that letter! Perhaps it is a fabrication, but it certainly brings the point home, and is at least as true as the drivel drooling from this idiot congresswoman...she is pure evil!
I read that letter the other day, and tho I didn't question its authenticity, I did find it a tad melodramatic.
Never was a fan of attempted emotional manipulation.
DaveM
03-19-2008, 02:12 PM
I don't think anything could possibly mitigate the Congresswoman's stupidity, but fighting lies with lies is a bad idea.
That said, I do hope various people will continue looking into the source of the letter, as they have been doing. Whether it is genuine or fake, the truth should be known. The truth, after all, will make us free....by which standard Sally Kern ought properly to be chained in a dungeon somewhere.
