Hi folks!
We're going back over some old stuff with Goddard College and their new fundraising team, and we're trying to trace back to the original original Pearl Foundation fundraiser. I wasn't around much for that, and Pat and Janis don't remember, but we need to try and find out whether everyone made their checks out directly to Goddard, or to Janis Ian, or to Revenge Touring.
If anyone remembers, please let me know via judy@janisian.com , and thanks in advance!!

I still have the stuff I purchased, and I MAY have cancelled checks ... but I doubt it. I will have to dig downstairs...
...my brain just plain doesn't recall....

Did we not make them out to the Pearl Foundation? I am pretty sure we did as I know I claimed tax relief and the charity had just been given official charity status. It certainly wasn't Janis Ian or Revenge Touring. If I recall correctly, the charity number for the IRS was posted at some point during the weeks of the auction. I'll see what I can find.

Here's the instructions from the website: THE PEARL FUND HAS APPLIED FOR PROVISIONAL TAX EXEMPT STATUS, BUT CANNOT GUARANTEE THAT WITHIN THIS CALENDAR YEAR CHECKS AND CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS ISSUED TO THE PEARL FUND WILL BE ELIGIBLE FOR EXEMPTION. IF IT IS IMPORTANT TO YOU THAT YOUR CONTRIBUTION BE TAX-DEDUCTIBLE, PLEASE MAKE YOUR CASHIER'S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO GODDARD COLLEGE. YOU MUST PAY BY CASHIER'S CHECK OR MONEY ORDER TO OBTAIN THIS; ALL CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE TO THE PEARL FUND AT GODDARD COLLEGE.

Not bidding? You can still make a contribution...
The question has come up several times - "can I send a donation even if I don't want to bid but want to send money?" (It's true!) The auction is really a smashing success, and if you'd like to make a contribution to the cause, you can send it to:
The Pearl Fund At Goddard College
Post Office Box 121797

I'm pretty sure I used a credit card. I had to call somebody to give them the number. I'm looking at my signed framed "Restless Eyes" right now!

Right off the top of my head I wrote a personal check!!!! Wow!!!
I had already done my lucky, life changing, one on one interview with Janis for the mailed out newsletter. Drove from Atlanta area to Nashville, was taken to lunch with Janis, Pat & dammm can't remember her name. oops. Another story another time. lol
Anyway, without me going into storage [junk] room to pull boxes I won: 1. 2 sets of LP's pulled from closets. One album, Restless Eyes, says to "To Mom, All my love - Janis Ian (me)", when asked what to do with second set of LP's, requested most complte set to come to me and give the runner up of the LP's the other set. LP's are hanging on wall in great room. 2. Red Silk Blouse/shirt [already laundered....oh well ;) ] 3. The Banjerine Banjo with hard case, written on case in Janis's printing [yes it is authentic, wink] "The Janis Ian Band". I drove to Nashville and picked them up at an attorneys office. I think somewhere in Hillsboro, Janis had just had surgery, remembered asking how she was doing. That was near the beginning of my collectibg of Janis Memorabilia.
Charlene/Wormwoman1951/Gretchen...oops
