I'm having a little mini bottle
of White Zinfandel...

Does that count in a food thread?

Or should that have been in the alcoholics thread?

;)

Well, let's see maybe if you have a little cheese and crackers, or some fruit?

My Girl Scout cookies will be here any day now....since I don't drink, I was able to afford THREE boxes of thin mints! Ha!

Well, in truth, it was the large sad eyes of the Girl Scout that convinced me to order that many. That sales technique really ought to be against the law, don't you think?

I had homemade Hungarian brown bean soup. Homemade by my mother. With pieces of kolbász in it (Hungarian sausage), vegetables, paprikapowder and thick eggnoodles. It was delicious.

And I ate vanillapudding as a dessert. And a banana, just because I felt like it. It has been a good day foodwise :D

Tomorrow dinner will be potatoes & broccoli with cheese, from the oven. Breakfast, lunch & snacks through the day will probably be
- scrambled eggs with salt, black pepper & paprkapowder
- oatmealporridge (cooked in milk with sugar & cinnamon) maybe with apple
- oranges
- sardines on bread
-german lebkuchen (actualy a christmastreat but who cares?)

Yum!

Oh, Eva... you're making me miss my Grandma's Hungarian cooking!!!
I'm not really into cooking that much, but once in a while, like this week, I get feeling a little domestic and make up some good eats.

I propose a petition to encourage the Girl Scouts to sell stroopwaffeln. We don't have to tell them that they'll be spreading Rudieism in doing so.

Speaking of stroopwafels... This Rotterdam streetband is called The Amazing Stroopwafels and can be found regularly on streetcorners where they play for whoever feels like listening. They are quite famous in the Netherlands. This is their most known song called 'Ome Kobus'. It's about a man, Uncle Kobus, who lost his left leg to a shark when he was on holiday in Hawai. But he is a tough guy. He laughs it off and decides to buy himself a new wooden leg soon. It's a silly song. But it's fun. So for everyone who knows Dutch or wants to learn it... here is the sing-along version. Enjoy!

PS: don't forget to get yourself some stroopwafels. I am sure that, as Rudies, you can all chew and sing at the same time.
