I won't give any secrets away just yet as I believe Janis has not finished the new song "Old American Folk Song". However, Lynda and I were thrilled when we heard it as it was written just after our LRC and is about a topic which we discussed with Janis

Yeah. It really is REALLYfunny. Mrs. CLoggie and I (and the rest of the room) were in stitches when she sang it in Birmingham. It will become a classic for some people I am sure.

I think the Amsterdam crowd laughed so hard at least half of them must have wet their pants. The topic is sad as it is serious and the way Janis deals with it really exposes the stupidity of certain parties involved. It sounds like pure gold to me!

I sure hope it's publicly available this autumn because it seems ideal for our wedding October 18th. :D

Yeah, I was thinking of my wedding too:)

Mrs. Cloggie & I are tying the knot on June 3rd but in England, this is merely a Civil Partnership. In Holland, an English Civil Partnership is recognized as...well....a Civil Partnership. However, you can also get married 'proper' in Holland now as a gay couple (we had CP first and then they 'opened' marriage up). Now if I were to get married in Holland, it would be valid as a CP here in England (You all still with me....). But if I were to opt for a CP in Holland, it would be CP in England. I can have my foreign CP as a CP in Holland or turned into a proper marriage in Holland, which would require additional paperwork.

There will be a test on this later!

So now Mrs. CLoggie and I will sign our Civil Partnership in June, and then in September, when we are back in Holland, we need to go to the register office to have our CP turned into a proper Dutch marriage. SO we will need to say I Do again officially. So we get two parties. This makes the Grandmothers happy as they are too old to come to England but this way they get a marriage in Holland as well!!

SO yes, The American FOlk Song is really topical and funny as it exposes the ridiculous set up of it all....
