So the polls (and we all know how reliable THEY are) indicate that John McCain is ahead of Mitt Romney in Romney's home state of Michigan. I would dearly love to see Romney get beaten in his home state. The man has absolutely no moral core - he is pure ambition and will say anything to anyone to get what he wants. Apparently, most people are catching on to that. My siblings from Massachusetts inform me that when Romney was governor, he would go on his multitudinous trips outside the state to promote his political ambitions, and make a point of trashing Massachusetts to his audiences. What a guy.
It really does not much matter who the Republicans nominate, as the GOP will get whomped again in November - so the whole Republican race is really just a sideshow. But I will enjoy seeing Romney lose. I guess money CAN'T buy everything.

I wouldn't be quite so fast on the declaration that the Repubs will "get whomped" just yet. Just remember the alleged(?) dirty tricks they pulled last time, and the time before, and the time before, and...... As scary as it is, I can easily see Huckleberry :D drawing enough evangelical fanaticism in his direction to take it right out from under everybody.

Paul,
I don't doubt the Republicans will pull out every sleazy weapon in their formidable arsenal - but I think people are wise to it and will not put up with it this time around. I think this is one of those seismic shifts in American political culture that comes along every 40 years or so.

oak,
this is my thought/fear. i see these "fanatics" who seem to have seen thee BS that goes on, i see them getting scared and falling back into what they already know...blind obedience. i want to believe what you say that they have learned the truth, i just have seen what happens on a local level and i know that people's comfort is in their fear.

Oak, I -hope- you're right but I'm not going to hold my breath over it.
Hoops, I see it too,.... every - single - stinkin' - day. As I've said in another similar thread, a former member of this message board calls it "Willful ignorance". That label fits quite nicely I fear.
