What an awesome performance Natalie put on...both nights I went were incredible!
Hoops, I wish you could have been there. Natalie is back to her old dry-humored, sarcastic self! I loved it! (lately, she's seemed a little distant from fans)

BUT....the highlight of my trip was meeting JEENEY! Chris and I had a great time with you, girl! You are truly hilarious to be around. Tell Ricky we said hello. We will definitely get together again next time I'm in NYC.

OMG, Gisli, I would recomend buying all of Natalie Merchants music. I really think anyone on this board would appreciate her, loving Janis as we do. Her first band, 10,000 Maniacs, is great, but I'm not sure everyone would love it as some of it was avant-garde. You're probably familiar with some of their later, more commercial releases (they disbanded in '93). Check out Amazon and YouTube for her work, but I'd definitely buy "Tigerlily", "Ophelia", "Motherland", and "The House Carpenter's Daughter." If you find you like her (I know you will), you'll want to delve into her live recordings on CD and DVD (Live In New York), and her Retrospective release. Although it's a "best-of", it has a lot of unreleased material. Enjoy!

We had a great time, JEENEY...I will definitely be back in the spring or early summer.....we'll do lunch and Chinatown again....and perhaps more. Concert nights/days are always extremely rushed and I never get to do everything I want. You are truly a hoot to be around!
Molly and Ricky are great as well....I actually miss them, too.

I'll have some concert pics and video up on my site in a few days...check it out when you get time.

it's a difficult decision to make, so i would sat start with tigerlily...you will probably recognize many of the songs. natlalie has voice that is a miracle in itself and she knows how to use it. enjoy the ride

You would have really loved Natalie's performance...especially Saturday night....I was cracking up at stuff that made other people mad....but, anyone who knows Natalie would know that dry humor and sarcasm are her trademark.....it's one of the things I love about her.....not to mention she's hot. :rolleyes:
