The only one I have,.... "Between The Lines". I went out (after a fashion) and sought out the one that I first ever heard and obtained it. Any other questions? :p Need -more- detail? :D

If you were getting at what I -think- you were getting at, then the answer is yes, I obtained it by questionable means. I didn't -buy- the thing. I found it available for download without me having to go out and actually buy it. And although I've engaged in some -heavy- use of and downloading from the p2p networks in the past, that's not quite how I got it - this time. I have my fingers into all kinds of places where that type of thing can be found and I won't use and haven't used the p2p networks since a couple of months before the RIAA and the MPAA started patrolling those networks in search of "victims".
In defense of my past expeditions on the p2p networks it was -usually- in pursuit of music that is not available anymore by any other means because it's out of production and doesn't look to ever be back in production any time in the future. When a tape wears out and it's not in production anymore you've have to get the replacement somewhere or do without altogether. It's such a shame to let -any- music die so . . . . . The last time I used the p2p networks was to replace one song on a Sergio Mendes tape I wanted to burn to CD. There was most of one song that got trashed somehow and the tape/album/CD was not available anywhere else. I got onto WinMX, found the song, downloaded it, and then burned the whole thing to CD. I've not been on the p2p networks since. A couple of months after that is when the RIAA started in with all the sue-'em-all efforts and I don't need that kind of aggravation.

Well there I agree with you, it is a shame to let a good music go to waste when it doesnīt have to. I like Janis approash to it http://www.janisian.com/mp3_downloads.html
exspecially the small letter. *disclaimer from our legal department. We don't *exactly* promise not to sue you, but you have to do something really bad, unrelated to downloading our music from our web site, to get that sort of attention. Even then, we probably won't even bring up the whole "downloading" thing unless you really irritate us.
And this always makes me laugh out loud
Or if you don't have a computer, you can send a check to:
The Pearl Foundation
PO Box 121797,
Nashville TN 37212
(Please include a note explaining how you found that address without a computer and what exactly you are doing with MP3 files. Thank you.)
So I know you have a computer....but do you owe a cd-player? The reason I ask is that I would like to know if the sound quality is the same from a download as from a cd-disk?
Or is that just a question of how a good computer or a cd-player one has?

Careful Paul. He wants to know all this so he can break in your house and rob your pc and your stereo. I know these things because I am a Pirate. Did you mention rewardmoney, Paul? :D

Generally speaking the answer is no. It all depends on the quality of the source material and also on the quality of the recording process. That's true in both cases.
I've got some CDs that never should have been made. The reason is that they recorded them straight from the old vinyl records. Recording them from vinyl is fine but in this case they didn't bother to clean the songs up and you can hear all the old vinyl hiss and all the pops and clicks from all the scratches. When -I- do that, I -always- take all the noise like that out where in this case the factory did not.
I've got a Diana Krall concert at the Montreal Jazz Festival recording that was recorded from the radio. It was recorded at 128kbps but it sounds like it was right off the CD. The source was superior (FM with no static) and it was done using an excellent program set up just exactly right. I got that thing out of the usenet newsgroups and it sounds live.
So you see, it all depends on the source and process quality. Either can be good, or either can be bad. It's a matter of care, and it's a matter of judgement. It can also be a matter of your hearing abilities and capabilities. I can usually tell the difference between an mp3 or other format recorded at 128kbps or lower and one that's done at a greater quality..... Many cannot.
I won't even get into the differences between CBR (constant bit ratio) and VBR (variable bit ratio) 'cause that just tosses yet another variable into the mix. ;)

That is NOT what I said! If I came across like that then it was interpreted incorrectly. I'll agree that it is A future but not necessarily THE future.
Far too many variables to set a statement like that into stone. I don't know what the future is.

I think the two should exist hand-in-hand actually. Besides, you don't -usually- get all the neat pictures and liner notes with download. Often a CD will be a mixed media CD as well,... with video presentations and other things. You don't -usually- get that all with downloads, AND it's a good way to support the artist. -Usually- when I've gotten on the p2p networks it was to replace things that were out of production.

Well don't get me wrong because when I first started out with the p2p networks (I explored a LOT of them) I was downloading and uploading stuff all OVER the place, but then it suddenly hit me that I was downloading stuff I already had. There wasn't any real reason for me to be downloading the majority of what I downloaded because I already had it,... I just hadn't taken the time to rip and encode it myself. When I learned to do that, I came up with stuff that was usually far better than the stuff I was downloading anyway and I turned myself over to a far more constructive and worthwhile project. I've got around 2000 vinyl LP records and about 1000 cassette tapes that I've been working on putting over to CD and that's what I've been working on. I buy a lot of what I have anyway (even though I object to having to buy it twice or even three times or more) but the majority of it is out of production and you can't get it anywhere at any price. It's just not available.
As for my sons,... they're both working and being the good daddies they were meant to be all along,.... and they DON'T have any physical problems as a result of their service in the middle east.... for which I'm extremely grateful. The eldest had to get his head back together a little bit but he wasn't there for very long and he didn't see any combat. He saw some of the results of the combat but he didn't see any combat directly. The youngest was mostly stationed in Dubai as a tech working on the planes so he never saw any combat either,.... but he was there SIX FREAKIN' TIMES!
What I've done with the both of them is plant a seed in their noggins and a bug in their shorts to see if we can all arrange it so that we can all of us duplicate the trip to Alaska I took a year or two ago up the inland passage. We shall see what we shall see.
