So now the sale has started and......

.......some of us have bought some really cool items and others are still trying to figure out how to get in (not naming any names here)......and some are still thinking what to buy and some have bought and are thinking of buying again later in december.

What I bought was some really cool stuff and if you want to know what it is I am happy to tell you.....but what I did want to buy was the vhs tapes, but didn´t because of the NTSC Format only, will not play in PAL (European) VHS Players. Sorry.

I also wanted to buy Who really cares 1st ediition but looked at the cover instead of reading this: This photo is not of the one we have; this is someone else's. Our front looks a LOT better. It still nags me to have overlooked it, but it makes me happy that some other lucky person did get it, can´t be selfish, I have the reprint after all and I am buying Janis Item not just to collect them but mostly to enjoy her work, read them and listen to them.

I like this sale a lot plenty of nice items and my question is: What did you buy or want to buy from this sale???........even if you can´t buy but would like most to have?

kath and lucille, they were able to get for me what I wanted most... and once I got in from the Kathy Mattea concert I was able to get even more things.... except I really wanted "STAGE CLOTHES" but janis let it be known that I bought her out last year....... she HAS to have more clothes.... otherwise she must really be cold......

Gisli if you have some money left you can buy the VHS and let them copy it into European format by a specialized store. I did that with the VSH with Janis from Studio 22 Australia a couple years ago.

welp, i have about half my order places, gotta wait till the next pay check for the rest. i got cd's and different sorts of kits, and the breaking silence poster . i am gonna get some t shirts, the dvd's and the vhs. i hope i get my check soon cause i don't want em to run out. i'm also gonna get a lithograph FINB. and probably more. this year i was trying to think of who i could get Janis gifts for. last year i got eveyone on my list something from the sale. this year, i can;t remember what i got em...lol, so i got some extras that i'll stick in with another gift for them. they get kinda funny with me, tell me i'm all about Janis Ian and maybe THEY would like something else too. i just say, ok but you're getting some janis stuff too. cause if you aren;t advertising for Janis, then you must not know me and get gifts from me...lol. Janis, great stuff!!! i can;t wait to get everything i don;t already have, and maybe an extra of some that i do have. but THIS YEAR i'm waiting till christmas to open it up! (yeah right)

That's why I was going nuts trying to get into the store while I knew others were already getting my 1st edition copy of Who Really Cares. I, too, have the new edition, but I just really wanted an original, singed by Janis! I ordered replacement cd's from those "lost" during the year, etc... but I'm holding out for hand written lyrics.... I just can't figure out what song I want, and how I want it framed, etc... Also got a poster, and don't remember what else, other than the dvd's and songbooks. Jenny, I bet Janis would be glad to send you some clothes if you asked. Anything for the foundation. I want to be roady for a day, and do her makeup for a show. I have it all planned out.... and all new brushes and cosmetics so no chance of any germs getting on the singer! I would just love to hang out with her for one day.... what's that worth? I could be her driver; I'm a good driver.

Jenny, you're going to be really disappointed in me next year... I'm still just wearing jeans and shirts and "those boots" for the time being. Frankly, between surgery, new tour manager, new stage gear (same guitars), some new old songs for the show, getting through this sale, and finishing up the third draft of my autobiography -- then planning for its release and a website upgrade built around it -- not to mention trying to put together a "best of" compilation to go with it -- well, I don't have time to buy Xmas presents for Pat, much less clothes for myself!!!!

Janis, we will make every effort to protect your Jeans and boots from Jenny at the Virginia show but bare in mind that there is one Jenny and only a dozen or so other Rudies to try to hold her back... Perhaps you should consider having the button on the jeans welded closed and additional security..... We all know how determined Jenny can be...

I bought the 2 new DVDs and the CD of the UK LR Concert (Sheffield). I also got the journal and pen set (got 2 of these before and they're great) and some Joy bookmarks.

I am in the happy position to own a Aiwa Worldwide VHS machine - plays both PAL and NTSC. I bought it in J&Rs, New York when I lived in the USA - one of the best investments ever. Cost quite a bit but was definitely worth it. Probably no longer available now.

I ordered Ultimate Best from Amazon and it arrived yesterday. Will wait till Xmas to open!
