I've been spending time listening a lot to "Up Til Now" and well... I don't remeber when i fisrt heard "Stars" and "Jesse" and a few of the other songs, but mostly "stars" cause i think it was one of the first janis songs I heard. the original versions i mean, and as i listen i feel that feeling that i felt the first time i heard these songs. Like i said i don't remember when it was, where it was, how old i was, but dang i remember that feeling. it hits when she sings certain notes and you hear that certain thing about her voice that is unique to the originals. it's something i can't describe really, but it feels...well it feels deeply. it feels to the core of me. it feels that very first knowing that this is something you will always know and remember when you hear it again. you will hear it grow in the singer as the signer grows. like an infant child it is perfect where it is and will continue to be perfect through all it's stages and phases. different, yet the same and perfect thru it all. Janis, I thank you for your music, for your voice, for singing and playing and sharing.
