What Do Conservatives Spend Their Time Thinking About?

One answer is provided by Conservapedia's most viewed list: http://www.conservapedia.com/Special:Statistics

1. Main Page‎ [1,897,388]
2. Homosexuality‎ [1,488,013]
3. Homosexuality and Hepatitis‎ [516,193]
4. Homosexuality and Promiscuity‎ [416,767]
5. Homosexuality and Parasites‎ [387,438]
6. Homosexuality and Gonorrhea‎ [328,045]
7. Homosexuality and Domestic Violence‎ [325,547]
8. Gay Bowel Syndrome‎ [314,076]
9. Homosexuality and Syphilis‎ [262,015]
10. Homosexuality and Mental Health‎ [249,14]

I'd like to add something witty, but really, what is there to say after that? Especially since I can barely stop laughing. :p

After reading your thread title, I was going to answer "fear" but I suppose fear of homosexuals will do.

Now, who's going to join me in the Convert the Children to the Dark Side Rally on the 1st of December? (At least, I've been told once by a neocon, that's what World AIDS Day really is, not the solemn day of remembrance and educational activism that it is traditionally seen as. Oh neocons. You make me laugh so much.)

The "Conservapedia" Homosexuality statistics story being echoed, where the right-wing Wikipedia-style site "Conservapedia" allegedly has nine out of its top ten most popular pages being against homosexuality, cannot be correct. That is, whether by accident or design, the alleged statistics don't pass the sanity test (I know, I know ...). The site's "Most viewed pages" statistics supposedly are:

Except this makes no sense. While the "Homosexuality" page itself might be highly ranked, the "Homosexuality and Hepatitis" page is short and has been in existence only since October 17. There's no way something like that would a legitimate third-most popular page, even for raving homophobes.

And the top ten doesn't have "Bible"? Or "Jesus Christ"? [update - better: any other controversial topic?]. Those are supposedly less popular than "Gay Bowel Syndrome"?? That's ridiculous (I know, I know ...). Either a spider has run amok or someone is deliberately inflating the pageviews.

Of course, this post will have near-zero effect on a story "too good to check". Let's hear it for the self-deluding nature of the bogosphere and the futility of trying to be heard :-(.

Could or would it be possible that those individuals that do not count themselves as "conservative" are driving those numbers and results as high as they are in our speculations about what the Conservapedia has to say about those subjects? I think that it's quite possible that if the results are skewed that -may- be the reason.

Also, has anyone actually -been- to Conservapedia to actually -look- at the results rather than trusting a third-party report? -I- have and I can assure that the reported results are (or were) correct as of the time of my original posting of the rather amusing note.

Either way it makes for an interesting tale whether skewed or not.

I just keep wishing someone would explain "The Gay Agenda"....what it is and where it is written down. After all, every "conservative" knows about....surely they've seen the contents somewhere?

Times like this make me regret that I'm only an honorary lesbian....nobody ever taught me about "the REAL stuff". Perhaps someday...

Only Rudies could turn this into a food thread... *eyerolling sigh*

Yup... I know a conservative that was far right as you can get. Limbaugh was too left for him. In fact I lived with him for many years... Many being six or seven. So... yeah... love the list, so appropriate.

:p

Though he was even more about crushing abortion and raising the death penalty to a golden pedestal, than worrying about homosexuals. But then, as I said, he was not even the mainstream conservative...

Lovely. When you are able to sort them out into a mainstream and tributaries there are way too many of them. If I wasn't an independent, rather sane, and peaceful person I would ask when hunting season was.

Paul, yeah, I checked. But I was immediately suspicious of how few edits some of these pages have in their history. And how new they are. It would take an enormous amount of neocons concerned with Gay Bowel Syndrome to flood the page and bring it up to 400,000 views in a month and a half. It's too perfect to be true.

And Dave, here's your answer (http://www.bettybowers.com/homoagenda.html). Remember, people, 3:33pm is the time we strike. Synchronize watches, iPhones, and gay agenda countdown devices........... NOW. And DaveM, don't forget to have me teach you the secret handshake and the passcode for the "Destroying Civilization"-themed costume afterparty. I plan on attending as a rather fabulous homo civilzation-ending asteroid.

Jesus, Mary and Joseph. What is wrong with those people? They are soooo hung up on homosexuality. And I'll bet that those pages are viewed a lot by people in the closet.

Indeed. It just so happens they're in there with their laptops, some kink toys, and someone they met in a public restroom. I'm tired of these kinky closeted neocons supressing their sexuality silly until it bursts out of them in a moment of pure stupidity, making the whole LGBT community look even more like sexual deviants who lust after children, seek sexual encounters in public places, and show a general lack of good common sense. My partner and I are plain vanilla when it comes to that aspect of our relationship. How radical and subversive! I just wish these morally bankrupt people would man-up to their emotions and stop lying to themselves. They work themselves into a frenzy trying to deny themselves a life they, in another time and place, might have liked to live and then turn that frustration outward on to people who've done nothing to them. That's what boils my blood.

Erm, oh, lookie, another rant. Where'd that come from?

Time for another distraction: http://www.larrycraigslist.com

Definitely 3:33pm somewhere in the world.

Hoops, the answer to your question is: The multi-colored crow flies at GMT. Got to keep those straight non-allies off the trail, so I'll speak in code.

Oh, and I've got a half a shirt (http://findarticles.com/p/articles/mi_m0GER/is_2001_Summer/ai_76896180/pg_2) if anyone wants to purchase one (not really).

My boyfriend and I are about the least "stereotypical" Gay people I know. It was the same way with my ex of ten years. I live in fear that one day some angry, Gay mob will break down my door and demand I return my pink triangle patch.

We’re people first okay? Yeesh! Don't believe everything you read. Most of it is utter nonsense.

After 30 years of her knowing about my orientation, I got tired of explaining to my mother that being Gay is not a lifestyle for me, so I finally gave up trying.
