Thanks, everyone. As the saying goes, better late than never.

marjan, please don't feel bad - I'm used to it. As a kid, I went to the airport with a group, got lost and found the right exit in time, only to find everyone getting back on the bus, my absence obviously not noticed.

Anyway, I had a great birthday last year - saw the pandas in San Diego Zoo in the morning and Janis in church in the evening - enough birthday celebration to last me a lifetime!

As for this year, I was down with the flu on my birthday!

Actually, I kinda had an early birthday this year - 2 months early - in Wolong, China, with my panda daughter.

And Bat, James and I share our birthdays with the late Kurt Vonnegut.
