As I'm in the mood to share a bit of time with you all I thought I might mention this... Wrong time of year but.... Just passing along some info to those interested...
Check out the local communities in your area for the FREE Summer Concert Series Concerts....
We've seen many of them over the past couple years in Jersey and Pa.... We've seen some really good acts performing, outdoors, in an evening in a park.... If you don't hunt them down they can sneak right past you...
Twice we've seen Janis at these shows, Both shows within 70 miles of home... Once in Reading, Pa and once in South Orange, N.J. (With Gem & Nancy)
We've seen Lou Christie a bunch of times (Once with Marjan & Annette)
We've seen The Shangri-las... Also Johnny Maestro & Brooklyn Bridge...
Usually if you can find one of them you can hunt down the agency booking the communities... For example http://laguardiaentertainment.com/ which books HUNDREDS of name acts at thse community based shows...
Anyway as I see it anynight enjoying a concert is better then the best night at the movies or watching TV....
