Some folks work very hard at being butch, and for some it just comes naturally.

I buried my new patent leather "Mary Jane" shoes in the sandbox when I was 3. They were never found.

amy you rock! i'm not a butch girl, just a tweener, but mary jane shoes...well they just have to go...so if you ever find them, send them to eva who is probably passed out right now after reading what you did with your shoes.

Hoops, they are somewhere in a playground in Whitestone, Queens, Long Island, NY.

The only patent leather footware I have worn since were my custom riding boots with patent tops that I EARNED...

Hoops, I won't pass out on the shoething because Amy didn't bury MY shoes (that would cause bloodshed) But I am a 100% certain that you, as a butch, know better than to lose the prized footwear of a femme, Amy. I have every faith in that.

Hoops, I will pass out on meeting attractive butches. Or at least lose my ability to speak in (understandable) sentences. And I will start blushing like a teenagegirl. Quite annoying for me; I can tell you that.

That avatar of yours is just wrong!!! But maybe that's how Redjack felt after drinking that schnapps (or whatever it was) that you sent to the picnic last year! Hell, maybe that's how I felt after drinking it! :p I don't remember! ROFLMAO

Oh dear, Karen... I thought you were talking to me... I changed my avatar recently and thought: "It can't be that bad!?" But then I saw Gisli's avatar and understood what you were saying... :o

karen,
i was having a hard time ( no pun intended) with gisli's avatar too... people just shouldn't look like that and you know what, they will pay for it in the in...because whatever pumps up, must sag down...age, it's God's way of laughing at our silly vanities.

Okay, Eva

You need to 'splain to me - what is the significance of the bandannas in the back pocket?

It's called flagging. It's actually a gay men's thing. Not so much a lesbian thing. But I have seen butches do it too. In fact, I do it too sometimes, but not so much with hankies.

The hankies have different colours. Depending on the colour, people you might want to cruise can see what you are into sexually. Right and left signal top and bottom. That's not neccesarily an SM thing. It can also mean give or receive. Also wearing a hanky shows if one is interested in cruising / getting cruised. There are also hankies that flag 'not available'.

There are several hankycodes going 'round, to make it a bit more confusing. Although some colours and their meanings are quite known. It was very funny during a mixed Queer SM party that we organised. Our Dungeonmonitor (kind of a host) was wearing a red bandana around her arm so she could be recognised as dungeonmonitor.

She got cruised by several men (some gay) who thought it might be interesting to try out with her what she seemed to be flagging. Thing was only that she wasn't flagging at that moment... :D We had great fun.

I hope this makes it a bit clearer, Oak.

ok, now what does red mean...hmmm i meanover here a red bandana is a sign that your are in with the gang "the bloods' and a blue one means your tight with 'the crips' it can be a very serious thing to be caught with the wrong bandana in the wrong place. i'm intrigued to know what this means in a more...shall we say...pleasing place.

Hoopsie darling. This is a familymessageboard. Maybe it is better to discuss details like that somewhere else :D

Ah, I see. But we are talking hankies here, not bandana's. Usually tucked in the backpocket of the pants. It has nothing to do with the Bloods or the Crips.

i'm intrigued to know what this means in a more...shall we say...pleasing place
It can be quite embarrassing to be caught with the wrong colour. (Or the hankie tucked in on the wrong side) Also in pleasing places. "Am I flagging yellow? Ehm... I mean grey of course..."

I'll never look at a hanky in quite the same way again....

Based on this, the Boy Scouts are a far more complicated organization than I ever imagined.

Odds Bodkins!

Now I happen to own a large collection of bandannas that I wear around my neck or as headbands. Now I know to keep them out of my pockets -especially the orange one I wear when I bowl . . .

Wendy, Wendy, Wendy....

Now thats funny... I tasted some of that Aussie stuff once... I was Never the same after that.... Hell, after that the Icelandic Schnapps and Paint Remover that Gisli sent tasted pretty good but we fell short of getting the paint completely off the house... I think anther three ounces would have done it ;)

Best to all
