I'd hand you a kitten, but the kitten just screwed up my Monday. It bit me. The little bugger. So I was told to go to the clinic, which felt silly, but I did it. And I basically got told what is common sense to anyone that gets bitten, since I'm up to date on tetanus and everything.

I'll hate Mondays with you, Godsistah.

Song, I get bitten and scratched by cats and kittens on a daily basis, so...I feel the hurt, girl! LOL! I think it's just so cool that you are giving of your time at the shelter for the animals. I know that the volunteers here at the shelter I work at are priceless!

Well lets see....

Mondays equal more or less one seventh of our lives....You all may as well get into the mindset that Mondays aren't so bad... After aill when you get to Monday your only four days a way from a brand new full weekend... And think of the wonderful music that couldn't have been written if not for Mondays.... Rainy Days and Mondays (The Carpenters) Monday, Monday (The Mama's and the Papa's) and others....

Just think of the positive side of Mondays...
You get to recover from all the activities of the weekend...
Blimpie Sandwiches are two for the price of one for Blimpie's Best On sandwiches...
On Mondays you get all the junk mail that was not delivered on Sunday...

Get the point???

Mondays are your friend!!!!!

Best to all

Godsistah, the only kittens and cats that have bitten or scratched me have been scared, so I forgive them. Though I told Kairo (an adult that bit me, though not to the blood) to grow up and get over getting his nails done. But he's a sweet (huge, gorgeous) lap cat.

The kitten that got me good was about to get shaved a little, because her fur was matted and disgusting... So the vet turns on the electric razor, and then I attempt to hold said kitten by the scruff of the neck. She did not like this idea, squirmed harder than I'd ever had a kitten squirm before, though I was still holding her, and then bit me, putting four teeth quite squarely into my finger.

I didn't exactly drop the kitten, but yelled, and put her down on the table with one hand on her. I think I probably called her things unfit for a kitten to hear.

I was saying goodbye to all my babies today, though I really didn't want to. School is starting up again, and I won't be able to volunteer every day. Everyone at the shelter knows me. Today I did all the cat cages on my own. I may have to still go down there quite frequently. They are still my babies. They all got to know me. As soon as I walk in the door they miaow, even the generally shy ones.

So, I feel very lucky to have found something wonderful to do with my time. So many said they were bored during the strike. I love the people I worked with, and the cats, too. I think I'm going to cry from missing the cats.

Godsistah, you do awesome work, working with shelter animals. It is so hard to understand the strength and courage there until you are there for a while. Every now and then you walk in and find out a cat you loved had to be put down because they have feline leukemia, or you hear a kitten that they thought was going to recover was suddenly knocked flat by distemper. Or something just didn't work, and here this little cat is back in the cage, a little surlier from having known freedom and then having it taken away.

*hugs*

whoever works with animals whether at a vets office, a shelter, a resue center, has a special gift. to car for the hurting, the dying and the unwanted is an amazing thing andi bow to you. song, trying to hold a cat that doesn't want to be held is like trying to hold jello that hasn't quite jelled :)

All that time off school....and you've remained pure. Are congratulations in order, or sympathies?

SongDragon
11-06-2007, 10:17 PM
Pure? I wouldn't say that. From that cat bite I've probably got tons of bacteria running through my system. My immune system is getting a good little workout, probably.

Sympathies, probably. Though considering I did avoid most of the social events (there were a few I attended for mere minutes) that weren't clubs, it is completely my fault. And I'm glad.

I want to enjoy partying, I just don't see it happening. It's so loud. And kind of scary.

When I'm ready for partying, I suppose I'll know. Until then, I'll stay back here, with my pen and notebook, and my laptop, of course.

You need to find Rudies to party with. We can hold our own with the best of them. And as a rule, no one gets hurt or arrested.

song,
during my youth i attened just two or three "parties" and i was not amused. i just don't like watching people get stupid drunk and all that goes with it, the rage, the "i love you, i really do" the vomiting. not my thing, now having fun...i'm all about fun, i was the one who had to untie the alligators mouth after we caught him and set him free a mile or so later... i also was the driver of the truck cause i was the only one who wasn;t drunk...then there is car surfing, jumping out of moving cars ( and redjack and randy wonder where my car fetish comes from) dancing, wonderful, love it, singing, as long as no one can here me over the others, just give me something fun to do and i'm there, but if yur gonna be drunk over my shoulder, i'm gonna ask ya to move away. have the kind of fun you like song, no one says it;s a rule that you have to have a certain kind of fun

Just getting ready for the inevitable. Tomorrow's gonna be a banner Monday, I think, as I had a little too much fun this weekend, and got way too little sleep. The weather's turning to crap, and I've got a huge workload to complete before vacation on Thursday. Thank goodness it's only a 3 day week, so I suppose the "glass is half full" remark would be that tomorrow is also Wednesday, in a way...:D

Ahhh, Thanksgiving. A four day weekend and the only price to pay is my dear Aunt Julie's senior style bland cooking, but I love her anyway.;) I wouldn't be surprised if my good old buddy stress causes me to work on Friday anyway. That's only because my district manager is coming to work with me next Monday through Wednesday, that old dog and pony show.

I agree with Hoops. I have been to clubs and stuff but it's actually kind of boring if you don't really feel like being there. And I am, by the way, living proof that one can get the label of 'wild one' without having to visit all those drunkparties and all. So do what you feel is fun and do it with pashion.
