Time falls back one hour on Sunday as daylight time ends in Canada, U.S. (http://ca.news.yahoo.com/s/capress/071102/national/time_change)

TORONTO - It's time to change the time, again.

Most people in the United States and Canada, where daylight time was extended by four weeks this year in an attempt to save energy, will be getting an extra hour of sleep this Sunday, when clocks fall back one hour.

The time change will kick in at 2 a.m.

There are at least a dozen clocks in this house....as a rule it is several weeks before I stop finding one that hasn't been adjusted yet. Not to mention that the clocks on the VCR and microwave require the skills of someone with a graduate degree in engineering to reset. Give me an old-fashioned wind-up any day!

I'm just relieved I don't have one as big as the one in the picture to change! :o

We did it last week too, except we put our clocks forward.

"Spring forward, Fall back", is the only way I can remember which way it goes.
(Except we call it autumn).

... again it took me a whole week to know AND FEEL what time it is... and not to wake up an hour before my alarm clock should ring...

And in my eyes the energy saving argument has been nonsense from the very beginning.

Mimi,
i agree 100%, i don;t see it "saving' anything and besides....(someone had to say it so i'll take the brunt) "does anybody really know what time it is? does anybody really care"

Hi all,

Well I have to say I bet it was hell back in the days of the Roman Empire trying to set back all the Sundials...

Oh wait I don't need to set my clocks back... I can't tell time....

Best to all

I did it! I did it! And as a bonus, got to see the Vikings actually WIN!!!

When Daylight Savings Time was first proposed, a group of farmers from Iowa became outraged and contacted Congress, demanding that the measure be blocked. The reason? They were afraid the extra hour of daylight would ruin their crops.

Lol, DaveM.

The extra hour was good, today, though I almost forgot about it.

We had a mad after-party for our haunted house last night, and while I went into my room at eleven or so there were people outside my room until around two. So... recovery was necessary.

Though I highly doubt they placed daylight savings time there just for us.

I think it is all about LIGHT. I hate being woken by early light at some inhuman time in the morning. Now it is more bearable.

Well, we did forget about the time change. My partner and I got up at 4am, had some coffee and quiet conversation before she headed off for work. One of her coworkers teased her about how early she was since she generally runs late getting in. No, no, you're really, really early!!! HAAAA!!!

It wasn't so bad for me. I got an extra hour of work done before the kids got up...

Speaking of kids, her comes Michaela trotting into the office....potty time...

Gotta go!

I saw that there were new posts on this thread and wondered if we were going to have to turn the clocks back another hour....got scared for a moment since if that happened I'd be going to bed around sunrise.

Does anyone else remember that year during the 70s when Daylight Savings Time was extended, supposedly to save energy? No idea whether it did any good. The only thing I can recall was that it meant I had to get up and go to school in the dark. And I was not a morning person even then.

Before I looked it up, I thought potty time ment you where going to teach Michaela some gardening.......as in potting time.........Well being the foreigner has itīs advantages, like when you misunderstand things and do some wrong spelling.

Now why did I post this again??? Ah yes, it was to say how beautyful the extra hour is with the ones you love, best hours of the day.

Yup....

I remember it well.... I was thumped on the head at the Beveraly Arts Center in Chicago  , the world was spinning.... Ned was off in the corner hiding knowing that Karen was being dangerous (again) and all I could think was "Does anybody really know what time it is?" I could only wish that "The whole world is watching".... Oh, bet you can guess what CD I'm listening to now ;)

Off topic sorta but it's REDJACK's fault...
