View Full Version : Cabin in the woods
On Monday morning I had a dental cleaning and when I came out Jimmy was there at the mall. He was going up to his cabin so I went with him for the afternoon. Getting out in nature if only for a few hours did wonders for the depression I’ve been fighting lately. Just thought I’d share a few photos of the place. As you can see, it's a very "rustic" cabin. '-)

I love it! It's seems away from the things of man.
That's lovely, Dee. You should do that more often if you can. Nature is good against depressions. And yes, it's ehm... very 'rustic'. But hey... it's home?

Hay compared to my ex-mother-in-law's kitchen it look pretty modern. She didn't have to have it that way she wanted it that way. I guess to each his own.
A great place to visit even a beautiful place for a while but I wouldn't want to live there. Or maybe I would! We did have electricity and and an electric stove but no heat or bathroom. It was really cold in front of the kerosene heater especially if you were taking a bath in the old wash pan.

Looks a lot like my "retreat". Such places are the greatest healers on earth. A few days of being completely and utterly "basic" and you start to feel like Henry David Thoreau. It does wonders for one's worldview and peace of mind.

This is a depressed person on the edge humming the theme
song to Green Acres and trying not to crack off completely.

sounds like an idyllic place to be, Dee :) :)
Looks like my kind of place! I love it. I wish I knew someone that had a place like that and they would let me go there.
And being outside in nature always makes me feel better. Glad you were able to do that after your dentist appointment. And we know how you hate the dentist!!

Dee, I enjoy your sense of humor in your photo caption. This cabin looks like a nice change of pace. Hope your dark mood soon lifts.

Dee, if you are depressed and humming the theme song of Green Acres, you have definitely lost it.

I'll have to check with the boyfriend first.
Do you know how to work a wood stove? A rain barrel? A composting outhouse?
