ok, i finally got some kind of news from one of the many dr's now involved on my case. i am scheduled to have monometry on november 29th. this is a test done to see how much of my esophagus is actually worthless enough to be removed. i could tell them causei can feel where it stops working, but you know drs. so the surgery i wanted to have done with in october will probably not happen till december ackkkk. meanwhile, i have my almost bi- weekly infections in my lower esophagus, i've had pneumonia twice since i left the hospital, but i guess the biggest thing is that i'm still losing weight, i now weigh less than i have since before i stopped growing, and the docs are all upset cause i need to keep up my strength in order to have the surgery. for cripes sakes if they knew, which they should how long it takes me to actually swallow the liquids that compose my diet, they would see that i'd have to spend my entire day supplying myself with liquid nutrition in order just to maintain my weight. they tell methat i'm almost definitely facing a long hospital stay due to th fact that i am continually becoming reinfected and my lungs, after my last surgery are very weak and prone to pneumonia now...i never had more than mild asthma ever in my life till now. so, they know about as much as i do, that i should be ready for anything, including multiple surgeries. and all i wanna do is move on. i guess i should be glad there is something that can be done but they keep telling me what could happen, what is likely to happen, and all such things. but let me just give one piece of good news, finally aftr more than five months paying for my liquid nutrtion, my insurance has approved payment for it as it is medically necessary. yay!!! saves me a good 70 some dollars a month weeeeeeeee.
thank you for allowing me to rant

Noel, to be left this long without being sorted out before this is just NOT on... I don't know how the American system works, but I do know that being left to get as many infections as you do from things not working properly, and your losing weight so rapidly isn't your fault. In this country you would almost certainly have a right to sue, although I am no lawyer and it would be difficult to prove anything.
Don't accept second-best. Rudie prayers and vibes go out to you and I shall email you today. :)

Get out the hatpin, Hoops...give 'em a good jab and tell them to get on with it!
Would you be a good candidate for a pneumonia shot at this time? It sure keeps me healthy, and lasts for 5 years, supposedly. Ask about it, get it if you can take it.

Hey Hoops, I'm sorry you're in so much misery. *hugs* I hope it can be fixed soon enough, and that it is possible for you to undergo the surgery without any complications. All my best wishes.
