I turned on the TV tonight and on comes a movie... The opening scene is a Christmas Parade and guess where it is??? Glorious downtown HONESDALE... It was a pretty good movie "THE LONG KISS GOODBYE" with Samuel L. Jackson.... What do ya think of that!!!! We expected to see you and Pat wandering the streets...

Best thoughts to you both

Unfortunately, that was filmed long before we moved to Honesdale. Wish we'd been here. However, if you want to come up to catch this year's version (the day after Thanksgiving), Pat and I will be marching in it for Roots and Rhythm. The golden retrievers will be pulling their decorated cart, w/ the new puppy riding in it. Then there's a big party in the park, where they will light the town Christmas tree and then the star up on the cliff. There's also free cocoa, coffee and donuts for all. And best of all this party takes place across the street from the house where "Winter Wonderland" was written so that will be among the many songs sung.

Leslie

PS - Actually, I'll need a couple of prayers on 11/8 that I'll be able to march in the parade. Having shoulder surgery that day. Fully anticipate good results, but always hate such nonsense but looking forward to being out of pain for the first time in about a year. But then of course, I won't be able to play for quite a while . . . Oh well.

AAAh Leslie, winter in wonderland! I did have visions for just a tiny moment that you were walking on your hands in the parade, and that the shoulder surgery might inhibit that  I hope you make it (on your feet that is).

You must of forgotten, unless it's at least 100 degrees here and I'm in the mood, I really dislike ice cream!

Now hang on Leslie. I just noticed this. Didn't you introduce me to that icecream that comes from the milk of turkeys? I distinctly remember talking with Kath, Lucille and your good self about how small the nipples of turkeys would be, and how hard it would be to milk them. :D

I guess anyone would be wild if they had weeny nipples being milked by finger and thumb - particularly if there was no hope of getting milk :D I'd be bloody furious.

Perhaps, but would you be ALL that surprised if George Bush tries it on some female dignitary before his term in office ends?

...or already has but the "official" story hasn't surfaced as yet. He is a turkey for sure. (Nothing against turkeys by the way)

Good GAWD! My house must've seemed like a convent!!!

lucille

Oh Mrs. Sews, I loved being at your house. The convent seemed like a convent,;) but not your place.

No Chook, we don't have milking stock of turkeys down here, we milk the emus. (Pronounced, eeem-yews, not emoos.) I must start a business name of Emu Hill Icecream. We do have an indigenous bird in the wild called a Bush Turkey, but no Wild Turkey.

...and you have that night on film.

By the way, have gone off topic? :D

Turkeys aren't Mamals. Turkeys lay eggs they don't produce milk. Do EEE-Yews?

Suzanne, your post really made me LOL.
Us folks in the antipodes are a bit touched in the head ya know. Prolly cos we are upside down and suffer blood rush to the brain (term used loosely)

Anyway it's all RANDY'S fault.
