This is a fabulous (albeit shortened) live tv performance of the new song from UK singer songwriter Alison Moyet.

fabulous performance, wonderful woman- just as accessible as Janis on her forum.

can't wait to see her on tour in January!

:)

p.s. people in the US may know her as a former member of 80s synth pop duo Yaz (Yazoo in the UK)

I wondered about her here in the states. I remember liking some of her 80's stuff. This recording and performance were wonderful and I will be looking into finding her album. You have GREAT taste!

I remember us sharing a couple of CDs about 2 years ago :)

Alison Moyet has to be one of the greatest vocalists the UK has produced. She had to take a break for 8 years in the 90s becuase of contractual problems with Sony (they wanted her to be Whitney Houston- she had other ideas lol) she returned after a long absence with Hometime in 2002 which is probably her best ever album.

Here is an impromptu folksy, acoustic version of one of her best compositions on that album, Should I Feel That It's Over- it's a bit "last minute" but really shows off her lyric writing and that voice especially at the the end of the song, which is where you actually see why there are two men sat on the right lol The album was nominated for the 2002 Brits (our Grammies).
