...as Margay calls my CPAP (=anti-sleepapnea machine)... :D

It works wonderfully. Now, after some months I really start feeling the differece. I am truly rested in the morning. What an unbelievably good feeling. I have more energy during the daytime. I don't feel like falling asleep anymore when I get tired. My days are longer because I need to sleep shorter (I sleep much more efficient) Together with the working anti-depressants this is the best thing that happened to me in years, healthwise.

Also I don't snore when I sleep with the mask on. That was very nice when I shared a room with three others. I didn't keep anybody awake. I am so very glad about that too. I always felt so guilty and also so very sorry for them. But I just couldn't help it. Now the only thing was that Margay said she thought it had been storming at night. But that was because the machine was standing on the nightstand between our beds :D

It's going well. Yes!

That's really good news, Eva! I'm so happy for you! Sleeping badly is a torture. And isn't it normal that you hear the storm on a pirate ship?

MIMI

By the way: Haven't seen Marg online for about three months. How is she doing? Say Hi to her from me when you see her again, I miss her posts here on the board.

Eva,
I'm so glad to hear this! a good night sleep is priceless. A pirate queen is deserving and in need of the best of a nights sleep to get her work done. great news

Push the beds together and set the machine on one side! Then everybody sleeps happy!

We'd better start making a proper holder for it on the ship. Something with gimbals, so it won't tip over in a storm.

Do give my best wishes to Margay as well. She is missed around here.

Thanks for sharing that good news, Eva. I am in the process of trying to get used to a CPAP myself right now, and it is very distressing. Your success gives me hope!

Yes, I found (and find sometimes!) it very distressing too. It takes so long after everything is exactly right: tests, diagnose, airpressure of the machine, getting a fitting mask that doesn't leak or leave irritation from pressurepoints on the skin, getting used to sleeping with the headgear and all, getting used to the sound. And then getting used to finally sleeping well. All the changes that take place after that. Sometimes I was so tired! As if I suddenly felt I hadn't slept in days. And I still am that tired sometimes. The body is adjusting. I only have my CPAP from June or something and a lot has happened and has changed. Amy and Dar have a CPAPmachine too. They use theirs for a longer time now. I am sure they can tell you more about more long-term effects.

Good luck and have nights in which you sleep very well
