I wrote a book called mixed nuts about my life in the world of mentally ill. hasn't been published,yet... and someone stole my title. if i were to rewrite it i'd happily include my rudie family. so many nuts all of em yummy i like to try em all from time to time. mmmmmmmmm it's good to be a nut and a rudie

O yes, a thread about nuts! I love walnuts! It's just the time to look out for walnut trees on my bike tours to pick the fresh ones up and store them for the winter.

Took this photo three years ago when I was still living in the beautiful Heidelberg area, full of wonderful walnut trees like the one you see behind my bike. It's a real pity that they are so very rare around here...

Yesterday I made 2 apple cobblers to take to a wienie roast last night. I made the original Apple Walnut Cobbler, and because some people don't like nuts (THEY are nuts!), or have allergies, I made an Apple NOnut Cobbler. The one with the nuts was polished off, and the kids ate about 1/2 of the No-nut one. I had some of that for breakfast, and it just isn't as good without the walnuts.

Heeeeey...

I recognize that one, Dee...

When I was in about sixth grade it became a hand game (much like Miss Mack and a few others).

It was one of my favorites.

Not all the lines were used, and most were shortened. Of course I didn't play hand games much, so I usually just listened to that one. It tended to be tacked onto the end of another short one (mostly the nut one was maybe six lines, tops, with a chorus of "I'm a nut *click* *click*" --> and darn onomatopoeias can be difficult to spell/write).

Ah well. That brought back some funny memories.

You all know I'm a mixed bag... A "Oldbies" and "Can't Believe I'm Still Posting" mix of sorts...
