I've noticed your tag has changed again, to "I ain't heavy, I'm your brother". Just happens to be pretty close to "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother", a song [performed] by my first ever favorite band (I was a huge fan, from about fourth grade to sixth or seventh grade), the Hollies! I met them one summer (well, those that are left of the old band, and the newer band members).

Oi! The memories. Hehe... Wow, that was random, I'll go hide now.

~Song

((Edited to add in the fact taht they performed the piece, they didn't write it.))

Song,

As always nice to hear from you. You have a much older spirit then your years count. You would have loved the 1960's & 70's... Though the Hollies were a great classic rock band from the "English Invasion", they were not one of my favorites.... Yet with all things there are often exceptions and a few of their songs ignite memories in me. "Bus Stop" was not one of them, but "He ain't Heavy" and "Abraham, Martin & John" certainly were.... I guess it has to do with memories of those days long past.

Dee, interesting choice of tag lines... You can be my brother any day...

Best to all

R. from Pa

 Thanks for noticing that Song. I didn't.

Guess that's the prize for reaching 4,000 posts (but I suspect it's more likely from eating too many Stroopwafels).

I am heavy Dee and I don't even know what a Stroopwafels is and I am not a brother. Well I have been called a lot of things I can't remember a brother.
Peace, Darlene

Dee, Didn't the Hollies do that song? lol.

Rickster, The Hollies performed it, but B. Scott and B. Russel wrote it, apparently.

Hehe, the line just caught my eye, Dee. Luck, that's all it is.

I wonder, Aabram. We'll see... you'll likely be next!

Randy, "Bus Stop" was one of my favorites, because I've heard it since I was about three. I also liked one called "Pegasus", which never got popular. "Carousel" is the one I hear the most on the radio. I liked "He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother" specifically because my friend Jen learned to play it on the guitar, and so we spent a lot of time with that song. It was also the first song someone (Jen, again, I think) asked me, "Hmmm... I wonder what it's about?" as we had made fun of the song on occasions. And that was the first time I ever tried annalyzing a song. I got it correct, in a rather simplistic way, but after that the song always meant a lot more to us. Needless to say we didn't make fun of it anymore.

Hoops, I was so shy when meeting them, I said almost nothing. I turned bright red and very wraith-like. It was a bit of a big deal, because we had backstage passes. My friend Jen was talking to basically her girlhood crush, Tony Hicks, and I was talking to Ian Parker, one of the new guys, who was really nice. They were all really nice as I remember, but I couldn't seem to speak much...

I'll go be quiet now... I think Janis has been the only performer I've actually been able to speak to some (it took me about three or more times meeting her, mind you).

Dee, that only happens because the http:// part is in there twice. Just go to it, and then cut out one of the "http://" things at the front, and then it should work fine. It's just the internet being picky again.

The Hollies also did a song called "Jesus Was a Crossmaker" that I really liked. It was a Judee Sill song.
