Congratulations on getting the draft into the editors! As for the surgery... we'll all be thinking good Rudie thoughts that you have a very speedy recovery.

My good wishes added to the rest, Janis.

And it's really good to hear that you got your first draft to the editor!

I don't mean to be impatient, but as has been said before, I'm just a kid. Kids are born impatient... And I'm not sure we all grow out of it.

Lovely little update.

I almost forgot there was going to be an update, the horror. It'll help me get through midterms with some perspective. Midterms are not all there is, the outside world still exists, etc.

best thoughts and good wishes to you in your upcoming surgery and recovery. i loved the pics you chose and i'm glad you're almost done wityh the autobiography. i'm sure it was a fun, but any huge project like that has to be draining too. get your danged hands off the keyboard for a while and heal, heal, heal. glad things are lovely and Pat and the dogs are good too.

Cudos on all your recent accomplishments-Pride Award, the Song of America and the first draft of your book.

Sending healing thoughts and Rudie Vibes that your surgery is uneventful, your recovery speedy. Actually be nice if your surgeon finds you interesting as a person (how could he not?) but just plain boring as a patient. ;)

Can't wait for the new DVD's!

I actually purchased "Johnny I hardly knew ye" via itunes yesterday (Janis' contribution to the Songs of America project). A very thoughtful rendition!

Well done Janis on getting the 118,000 words done. Some achievement. Great photos. Looking forward to the Dec. sale.

I agree with you that recuperating in lower temperatures is to be preferred. Here's to a cool / swift recovery. Heh that would be a good name for a company CoolSwift - could be an icecream delivery service! That would go well for the recovering on the porch; well maybe not in winter! Never mind!

Positive vibes, undoubtedly being sent from Ireland!;)

Roady said it perfectly! Smooth sailing to you, m'gal! Follow Dr's orders to the letter so your insulted little bod will recover nicely. We love you and send HUGE Rudie vibes for a successful and painless, no-tingley recovery!

Janis, My very best wishes to you for a quick recovery. Please have someone let us know that all is well. There have been so many great advances in back surgery; I'm glad you are getting yours out of the way and and have a great new year! Who really cares? We do!

We'll be keeping an eye on that surgeon, mind. However, I'll respect your request for no cards, good wishes, get well soon material, or anything of the sort.

So....break a leg. Remember the wisdom of the Scandinavians--life is supposed to hurt and if it doesn't, it's your fault (if it hurts when you laugh...see! It's true). But get well anyway.

Can you send Rudie vibes to the original Rudie? Well I am a Rudie so I guess I have Rudie vibes in me too. I should as much as I have listened to Janis's music the past nine months. So get ready Janis a big sea of Rudie vibes coming at you for little pain and quick healing. Also prayers and well wishes! We need you Janis! Take care!
Peace, Darlene

Of course we can send Rudie vibes to "Petal"....she didn't say we couldn't do that, did she?

Tried to sign up to win the guitar, but they seem to be offering a different one this week. Are we all a week late or a week early. Dar needs another guitar....we'd better get that sorted out!

Well as they say..... somewhere on the planet....once a Rudie, always a Rudie. Janis, we respect all you have just told us, and knowing what sort of pain is involved, due to my brother slipping a disc earlier on this year we wish you well and a speedy recovery from the Surgery you're having later on this month. I hope all goes well. We'll keep you in our prayers, and please don't stay away too long....

Succes with your surgery and get well soon, Janis. I know you won't read this as you said you won't open your computer. But I can send you Rudievibes. They always work, you know. And you don't have to get on a computer to receive them. They are even better than crack!
