As i remember Janis once asked the question . something about complete this sentence , There is no such thing as ? if that was the question, i answered there is no such thing as a Bad Note played in Music , only Bad resolutions. Boy i was so wrong , if you were in the desert this week You would of heard Lots of BAD notes , i cant believe im so rusty playing my horn . The good news is im playing . When i was a kid of about 13 or 14 i had a few Great Sax teachers . Don Menza , Phil Woods to name a couple but i was told that when you play and are improvising any note you choose to hit no matter What note it is . as long as you resolve it some way, any way to the next chord it all fits in. Even if you hit a wrtong Note , one that you didnt mean to hit , as long as you take it to and through a cycle and use it in a way that leads you to the next chord , You have not hit a wrong note . That advice has always stuck with me .Hope that makes sence and helps others. I Have a Lot of resolving to do this week ! LOL But im resolved to do it .Thanks everyone for the feedback on my other post about this issue

Go Mike, You got the look and I bet the talent. I bet if I was in the desert this week I would have heard someone working very hard and the resolutions coming every minute!
Peace, Darlene

But Darlene, there IS no such thing as a "wrong" note...only a right note hit at the wrong time or in the wrong place. Mistakes such as these aren't mistakes, just an additional personal touch to the interpretation of the music :D
