.... and (FINALLY) put my laptop in for repair today. It needs a new power socket as I couldn't get the right length pin for it. I hate the universal power cables at the best of times, but I hope it won't cost too much even so. the general idea is to get it in working order for Internet use :)

Annabel, the point is, that your computer's antivirus software isn't up to date when you didn't use it for a while. Bat is absolutely right. I caught my very first computer virus in a situation like this.

It will get updated when I get online. That's in the future. At the moment, I just want it WORKING :) I had a phone call from the repair guy and it's ready but.... it's costing me nearly £80 :eek: however, my poor baby needs it so will be worth the money
