Did EMI and Universal Music Group lie to the Department of Justice in order to throw federal investigators off the scent during the antitrust investigation involving the major labels, MusicNet, and pressplay? According to a ruling issued last week, the evidence suggests they did.

Thanks for posting that, it was fascinating. That might teach the record labels to leave well enough alone, rather than persuing Hummer Winblad for merely investing in Napster. But its too late for them now, and I would imagine there's a good chance that the DOJ might re-open their currently closed anti-trust case against EMI/BMG et al.
Also, if you read the actual court ruling, you get to see where Rob Glaser (of RealNetworks) actually sez that the disclosure of certain information would violate anti-trust laws and thus, he was doing so in a 'side letter' to hide it. I always maintained that that man was a snake.
Thanks again, RedJack
