Now that we are LESS THAN A YEAR away from the 2008 Rudie-que, I figure we need to start preparing. Here is my proposed Rudie-que battle standard we can hoist high o'er the site of the festivities:

aabram, if it gets too close to any of us while food is around, it will have more on it than that!! Especially Dar! We all know she is known to "wear" her food!

I think we need shirts for the occasion, too! Or maybe aprons! Now if I can only learn to digitize on my new embroidery machine.

Well, of COURSE I know that, Karen :) so how about some suggestions.....the less ham-like the better, naturally.... :p

And how about settling for foodie shirts as well as aprons, after all there is still time, and I may still get to come across for it :).....Oh, and another thing, NO SOCKS WITH SANDALS!!!!! :D

It works for me! Though I'm not getting into the sandals debate. I may have to bring my Birkenstocks for display, though, just to show my solidarity.

Wendy,

If you could make the banner, that would be awesome!

E Pluribus means, "out of many" For those of you who are not Americans, it is a play on the motto, E Pluribus Unum that appears on U.S. coinage. It means, Out of many, one as in one nation out of many states. E Pluribus MMMmmm is "Out of many [insert your favorite foods here] MMMmmm.

Karen, I love the idea of T-shirts, but I think we need to check with the real Rude Girl before we get carried away, after all, there is the issue of the trademark. . .

you know...we can order aprons frm janis' site and thereby make a contribution to the pearl foundation. then we could have them "specialized" for the rudie-que

aabram, i think it's commonly known that we are galley slaves but to have it publicized on our apron would be kinda cool.

There's always food! Rudies , Food and Music seem to go hand in hand

extremely tenative menu will include the famous brisket, bbq chicken, grilled veggies, grilled fruit (pineapple, mango, strawberries, etc) vegetarian and regular mini pizzas on the grill.

As I said earlier, I still can't promise anything concrete yet, but I very much hope to get there. The Tee Shirt Darlene sent me for my birthday is just SSSSSSOOOOOOO comfortable and I could wear it under my apron.... Here there's an idea for the Galley Slaves uniforms.......... (Janis signs the back of the Tee shirts............... sideways  :p )

Yippee! Just called to book our room for the RudieQ!

Believe it or not my better half is going to join us!

Karen and Marjan you BETTER come. The fact that you two were going to be there was almost as big a draw to her as seeing Janis.

Does anybody know if Michelle aka BGG is planning on coming??

Best news ever, Dar!! I've met Peggy, and she's smashing!! You're all gonna love her!

Now I definitely have to make the jaunt--and Janis, you have to bring Pat if Dar is bringing Peggy. I won't ask her for an autograph--and I won't bring an armload of vinyl either. Believe I only have two unsigned CDs left.

You practicing with all that crap-shaking equipment, Dar? We expect a professional-quality performance.

08-22-2007, 11:59 AM
Well, I've got a truckload of stuff for her to sign, but I'll leave most of it at home for other days undefined as yet  I know it'll all get signed eventually :)

I recently came across my very first JI item! It's the sheet music for Jesse that has Roberta Flack on the front. There is a small photo of Janis on the back. I sang Jesse at our Pops Concert in college--Feb. 1974. I even still have the caftan that I wore, made from fabric my grandma had brought to me from Hawaii.

Sounds to me as if you and Marcia ought to show up in vintage style.

Dave! Janis and I already established that Pat would think that I should get a life, but she would bond quite well with Peggy.

Crap shaking equipment ready and raring to go sir. I'm actually getting a little bit better at keeping time these days. I've been putting together music for bike workouts and spending a lot of time with a Dr. Beat measuring BPM.
