Did anyone see the Perseids (meteor showers) last night?

"It's going to be a great show," says Bill Cooke of NASA's Meteoroid Environment Office at the Marshall Space Flight Center. "The Moon is new on August 12th--which means no moonlight, dark skies and plenty of meteors." How many? Cooke estimates one or two Perseids per minute at the shower's peak.

Unfortunately, I only found about these this morning.

I saw them for the pst FEW nights the best was at about 4:30 sunday morning . i live in the high desert near Joshua Tree National Park where the star gazzers from all over the world come to see the night sky. it is VERY dark at night at my house since i have only about 900 people in a 40 square mile area around me. No street lights or Trees or bulidings . Just sky . it was spectacular . Sept 1st is the BIG show to watch forgot what meteor its called but this week was just practice for the big one on the 1st of Sept

I saw them on Sunday night. Not great from where I was on my deck too many city lights but sweet anyway. They are predicted to be somewhat visible for the next two weeks following Sundays peak AND best viewed just before dawn.
