View Full Version : Compliment to all of You

Well, sometimes my family surprises me.

Many of you know I went to the UK LRC. I was still a minor at the time, and Aunt Liz was sort of put in charge of getting to know Manchester Anne and Rowy so that when I went to visit her in England I could also go see all the Rudies. No amount of begging ever budges Aunt Liz, and she is just one member of my very protective family, all looking at the e-mails and weighing their worry.

The other day she said, "Are you still in touch with those Janis maniacs?" And though Aunt Liz is often a big teaser her tone worried me a little.

I said, "Yes, why?"

She answered, quite candidly as always, "I was just wondering, because they're a nice bunch."

Interpret that as you will. You guys certainly made an impact on my family (partly because they were surprised that I would ask to do anything outside of going along with the crowd, I think).

Cool, Song

You should invite them to the Jan-nic in Pittsburgh
next summer.

Awww. I would love to bring them to the Pittsburgh picnic next summer. Unfortunately they're going to be in England and can't even get enough time off to come see us. Ah well.

She forgot the name 'Rudie' I believe, though I may not be quoting her, or me, exactly.

Annabel, I'm sure I could contend with you, too! I'm crazy and tough like that.

:D :p

Actually, I still feel a bit bad, I wasn't as social as I should have been because I was feeling so weird (having just flown in). It felt like the twilight zone. If someone had poked me with a feather I would have fallen over.

That's one of my best memories, actually. Not having to be nervous around the UK Rudies when everything felt so strange.
