Im Home from my trip.and still on a high from seeing and hearing Janis in Nashville. Janis is like a needed Medicine to me . She gives me undiscribable pleasure every time i go see and Hear her play.Im really one of the luckiest people that i know, I can go and come as i please, travel when i have the funds and enjoy my life when i see the need. As im sitting here writing this i think that i should see the need more often.LOL ! Im prety much a person that isolates, ive been hiding since Nam.Fear keeps me a prisoner in my home most of the time..Janis has givin me a way out. When i make plans to see her some of my fear is lifted, and i feel safe .i have to say that the intamate settings of all the concerts ive attended have helped me realise that its ok to go out.Im working on that bit by bit . I love traveling and seeing the backstreets of america. The South especially because of the people . there is no where that i go in the south that i dont run into friendly hospitable people. The only thing i dislike about the south is the hummidity and BIG BUGS.if anyone has a chance take a peacefull drive along the Natchez Trace it is 50 miles an hour speed limit max , but Beautiful beyound words. The Bluebird cafe was one of the best days this year. When Janis and the others sang you could hear a pin drop it was so silent. For a Bar setting this was unusual not to even hear the stirring of drinks . even the bar tenders stopped when the songs started . that i call RESPECT for the preformers.i LOVED IT.Janis Greeted me before she went in and asked how my flight was and She made me feel bigger than i actually am . and im Big 290 lbs big.Janis Sang a song for me , The Last Train. one of my all time favorites of Janis. The Last Train hits very close to home with me. Ive got a hand written Lyric of the song. i have framed in my bedroom . Janis has the Most beautiful handwriting ,i recomend anyone to send in for there favorite song . You will be VERY VERY pleased .Its Speacial. i thought the funniest converstion of the night took place when G Petters was talking about playing Societys Child when she was at a camp when she was young and Janis asked if she added the A7 chord [ or something to that effect ] and Gretchen replyed i dont know what chords i played i was only 7 at the time.[Something like that] That cracked me up . The whole night was filled with humor and Great sound from everyone . i got a chance to meet a couple people from here . Jim from chattanoga and Darlene . and i sat with a couple others but im not really good at remembering names so forgive me .and i finally met John ,Very Nice man ..The Night was One of the best Nights ive had in a long while . probably since the last time i saw Janis . Like i said in another post Janis Always Makes me feel Very Special . When she sings its like she is singing to me and im the only one in the room kind of special.if you know what i mean. After the show i saw Janis in the parking lot and she asked me if the trip was worth it. LOL i was floored ,speachless for a min . Of course it was worth it i was thinking in my brain . Janis maybe has no clue in understanding What and How she has helped me heal and How everytime i see her i light up inside.Yes Janis it was worth it.!!! I cant say much else about the show that has not already been said by the people that were there . Except Anyone that has the chance to see and hear Janis in a setting like this . Jump at the chance , You will Love Every min of it. and it will leave an everlasting impression on your soul . Music Cures. Thank You Janis for making me feel so good. And Thanks all of you for being here for me . for those that dont know about The Natchez Trace ,,,,, The Natchez Trace, a 440-mile-long path extending from Natchez, Mississippi to Nashville, Tennessee, linked the Cumberland, the Tennessee and Mississippi rivers. It was used extensively by Native Americans and early European explorers as both a trade and transit route in the late 1700s and early 1800s. Today, the trail has been commemorated with the 444-mile-long Natchez Trace Parkway which follows the approximate path of the trace. The trail itself has a long and rich history, filled with brave explorers, dastardly outlaws and daring settlers. Parts of the original trail are still accessible. It was a Great 4 hr ride form Tupelo Miss to Nashville with Janis CDS playing all the way. No Addvertising signs No Gas stations No Houses Nothing but Trees and Beautiful sceanery .GREAT GREAT TRIP

Mike,

I am glad you had such a great time, and welcome back! Your description of the Natchez Trace makes me want to drive it. Someday. . .

Mike,

Glad you had such a great time! It was a plealsure meeting you. And iI understand everything you said, from having the resources to go where I want when I want to the intimate setting of the Bluebird Cafe to the respect the performers receive to the fact that you feel you are the only one in the room.

Maybe we'll meet again at another Janis Ian show!

Mike,
we all missed you while you were gone, but it was with a joyful heart knowing that you would have a wonderful time with Janis. You make her shine for us in your words and i can almost bet that when she plays her music for you she really does shine inside.

Glad to have you back. Now then..... I left a reply to your "need someone to make me laugh" message but unfortunately I left it too late. It can be seen here:

If you still need a laugh I think you'll get a kick out of it. :D

Mike, seeing you back on Board is a really heartwarming experience. I'm delighted you had such a wonderful time. Now we've lost Darlene :( We haven't heard from her since Monday, and she's not answering her phone :depressed: I just hope she's OK

Hey Mike...

Welcome home... I sure wish you could have made it up here for Musikfest... You would have loved seeing Meatloaf (Great show)and the Moody Blues (Greater show)... We even saw a California band, the Rip Chords (a 1963 surf rock band) The only hits they had in there day was "HEY LITTLE COBRA" and "THREE WINDOW COUPE"... Still they put on a good show that brought back miles and miles of memories for this old fart... We decided to pass on Deep Purple and Steppenwolf as we were both pretty well wore out...

Mike we look forward to conning you into coming out here for a visit when you find the urge or just need to escape....

Our Best to Lonnye and the rest of your herd....

Stay well Mike... or else..
