Part of my Voluntary Work consists of helping St Mary's Episcopal Cathedral in Edinburgh have a good festival series by stewarding some of the Concerts. One of the features of this year is the new Steinway, which arrived fairly recently and I think some famous musicians are going to give it abit of an airing

These will be fun to watch, but all the more boring because it's not Janis. It never occurred to me last April just how strongly Janis would blow me away. Now I have trouble keeping awake during these, but as long as I don't make it too obvious and I sit in my own little corner things will be OK, and I'm on tonight but I don't think I'll carry on with so many of them next year.
Because I had to be back there for 4.30pm yesterday, I tried to get on a bus back round after ringing at St Andrew's and St George's (quarter peal soon as I haven't ventured outside St Cuthbert's for those yet). That took me two hours (yes, it usually does via..... Silverknowes!) because of the Festival Cavalcade and the uncertainty of the buses. I got to the Concert, made one post on the Board yesterday and then got home at .....9pm tired, hungry, wet and annoyed.
Anyway, Saturday's Austrian Male Voice Choir were really good :)
