Well, I finally caught up to the current century and got myself an MP3 player yesterday. It's really compact and very nice! This page (http://www.circuitcity.com/ccd/productDetail.do?oid=157992&WT.mc_n=93&WT.mc_t=U&cm_ven=COMPARISON%20SHOPPING&cm_cat=BIZRATE&cm_pla=DATAFEED->PRODUCTS&cm_ite=1%20PRODUCT&cm_keycode=93) shows it in Black, but I got one in Silver. It's 1GB of memory, but that's more than I need. Let the morning power walking begin!

Sony S2 Flash Sports Digital Music Player

Built to last: The new Sony S2 Flash Sports Digital Music Player is built to last. The water-resistant composition and one-line organic EL display make this tiny MP3 player easy to take with you anywhere and without worry that it will break.

Multi-functional: Use the MP3 player to play up to 18 hours of music or as a partner for your next workout. The G-Sensor enables a pedometer so that you can track your every step. You'll also enjoy the built-in calorie counter and stop watch.

FM tuner: If listening to MP3s doesn't get you motivated for your next jog, tune in to the FM radio.

Music on the go: Take your music on the go. 1GB of flash memory stores up to 685 songs.

Water resistant: The S2 is composed of a seamless aluminum body.

Quick battery charge: If you have a busy lifestyle, you'll appreciate the fact that just three minutes of charge time will yield a full three hours of playback time. At full charge, your MP3 player will deliver up to 18 hours of playback time.

USB 2.0 compatible: The USB port provides extremely fast and easy transfer of audio files from the computer to your MP3 player.

Wow, I am impressed that 1GB is more than enough for you!
About how many songs is that?
I have 80GBs and it is still not enough for me!
MP3 players are just great!
I love mine!

So...what do you have downloaded on it?

:)

Since I just got it yesterday Andrea (and it took me a zillion hours to figure out how to use it), I haven't downloaded that much on it yet. Some songs for power walking (Eurythmics) which I'm starting next week, and some purely for pleasure, including some classic Janis Ian. Ever heard of her? http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k267/deemark/Emoticons/newwink.jpg She’s amazing.

1 GB may be sufficient for about 250 songs. My first one had 500 MB and I soon realized that wasn't enough for me... last year I got an Archos Gmini 202S with 20 GB. That's more than enough for me, I filled about 10 GB of it with all my favorite singers and lots of podcasts.

I could get a new one for about £10 (512mgs) but can't because my computer is still out of it... :( I'll get something better once I've got something job-wise, and something sorted out with the computer re power-wise, and internet-wise :D That other one didn't work properly so I reverted back to CD Player. I'm now listeninig to entirely classic Janis. Oh and that reminds me........ I need a new CD rack :)

After a long search, I got this (http://www.amazon.ca/Essential-Dan-Fogelberg/dp/B00009PJSC/ref=sr_1_7/701-6915393-1901112?ie=UTF8&s=music&qid=1186230845&sr=1-7) Dan Fogelberg CD yesterday and have added it to my collection of MP3s.

Will you be able to power walk to it? Or is that in the purely enjoyment category! :)

What Eurythmics albums do you have downloaded?

I'm always fascinated with other people's record collections!

;)

It's their ULTIMATE COLLECTION release, Andrea. Lots of good exercise beats in the songs.
