I was out shopping yesterday, and I came across an item that stopped me in my tracks. As soon as I saw it, I exclaimed, "This is the perfect accoutrement for our Pirate Queen!" It is indeed most excellently perfectamundo. I have sequestered it in a secure undisclosed location until I have the opportunity to present it to you in person, hopefully at next year's Rudie picnic. In the meantime, you will just have to speculate upon the nature of this bodacious bauble. . .

Sorry I have been keeping you hanging in suspense . . . I had family visiting from California last week and was playing tourguide.
Well, if it is unlikely that you will be able to be here in person for me to bestow this amazing gift upon you, maybe I should give it up. If you see what it is, you just might be so enthralled that you will swim across the Atlantic just to acquire it - or you could just pay $2.97 and get one at K-mart.

Pretty in pink does NOT refer to dragons.
I have been placed in pink from when I was born until about half a dozen years after I could dress myself... So they could tell my sister and I apart. She got blue, sometimes purple, sometimes yellow. I got pink or red.
After that it was enough!
Ah well... I'm just starting to wear the color again, but it still has an astonishing effect on most people when I do, since they know I don't usually like it.
The shock value can, indeed, be worth it, though.

I usually just look at them with my dominant Pirate Queen eyes. I tell them to drop dead on the spot and they do. Although a pink flipflop swatter might scare them to death. That will do the trick too.
