Bless her heart.... The interview with Larry King was heart wrenching. She showed true courage and dignity, as she did all through the Jim Bakker/Jessica Hahn scandal, and the collapse of PTL. Although I am not a Christian, I respected her ministry, her message and her strength. May the angels she believed in welcome her home.

i was in a musical that ran this weekend based on the many events in her life... the news of her passing was very sad... i believe we received some strength and support from her saturday night because it was our strongest performance...
she was a big supporter of the show and always wanted to see it but was too ill... now she has seen it and i think she was sending us her approval :-)

I happened to see Tammy on some strange tv show recently, along with Eric Estrada and Vanilla Ice. I have no idea what the show was, only that Tammy looked pretty good considering the battle she'd been fighting.
I wish her peace.

I try to live with as little bias as possible, but evangelicals always concern me. That said, it appears to me I was right about Jim Bakker, but not Tammy Faye. Whatever it was she believed, it's obvious to me that she was genuine and openminded. Also, I didn't know until I saw her posthumous bio on the net, but she had some substantial roots in Minnesota, being born and raised in International Falls, MN, and apparently meeting Jim Bakker at a Minneapolis Bible College. This so surprised me, because they just seemed so opposite to the mindset of this area, but I guess that's why Tammy turned out better than Jim, she was from "God's Country"!:D There's a trend here, now that I think of it, Billy Graham's ministry office used to be located here for some reason as well and I'm almost certain he's not from here. Evangelicals, thou shalt be driven out!;)

I loved Tammy Faye. She was a sweet, warm and non-judgmental person -- a bodhisattva, really, though she probably didn't know that word. And she always had a special connection with gay people. Jerry Falwell helped engineer the downfall of the Bakker's ministry, and repeatedly made unkind public statements about her. It's nice to know she won't have to deal with him in heaven.
