"In or about April of 2007, Peace, Phillips and Vick executed approximately eight dogs that did not perform well in 'testing' sessions at 1915 Moonlight Road by various methods, including hanging, drowning and slamming at least one dog's body to the ground."

I was sickened & horrified to see this on the local news and on various internet news sites. Sports figures are perceived as American gladiators, not bad ass gangstas. If these allegations are true (and I so fear that they are), I'd like to see Michael Vick punished to the highest extent of the law. Deliberate cruelty to animals is a strong indication that a person is violent and dangerous by nature and a possible menace to society. Gawd, this just SO sickens me!

Here's a photo of my much beloved, gentle PIT BULL. Who could look at this face and ever consider doing harm to him?

That is terrible. I can't understand people who do these things. I don't know who this guy is but I hope he gets punished for it and is never allowed to keep dogs again. Or any other animal, for that matter.

The article is sickening.

Mixty, your dog is gorgeous. What a pity this country is so stupid as 99% of the time it is the owner's fault if anything should happen, not the dog's. That's why Pit Bulls got banned, because the Government of the day was too stupid to know the difference between dangerous dogs and dangerous owners.

There is a special place in hell reserved for those who would torment an innocent animal for their own twisted amusement. Losers.

I hope there is, Oak! A place where he will be hung, drowned, slammed against the ground, electrocuted and revived over and over again for all eternity.

People like that should have the same done to them..... Then everyone can get a laugh.

What sort of person abuses animals for "fun"? Surely there's some sort of psychopathological term for it. Not that I believe it a character defect likely to respond to any sort of touchy-feely therapy.

Eva....your largest flogger please, and I'll be adding some barbed wire.

I've never heard of a case of animal cruelty where the "time fits the crime" and most get zip for a first offense. Check out the laws in your state on the State Cruelty Charts (http://www.hsus.org/web-files/PDF/state_cruelty_chart.pdf) And I wouldn't be surprised if this guy's not the only football player involved.

In Virginia where these abuses occured, it is a felony. It is also a felony in my state of Colorado (yay!) People who participate in the "sport" of dog fighting, cock fighting and canned hunting should ALL be prosecuted as felons!

Just had the PeTA email on the subject.

Here are some links.

http://getactive.peta.org/campaign/afalcons_vick_2/id7ikuer9mib7wx?

Send these guys an email urging them to suspend Vick pending the outcome of his trial.

http://www.atlantafalcons.com/About/Contact_Us.aspx

and cntact your local media to urge them to show PETA's anti-dogfighting http://uk.f259.mail.yahoo.com/ym/ShowLetter?MsgId=1168_3178986_49022_1772_6167_0_18 336_18692_2438089891&Idx=3&YY=57&y5beta=yes&y5beta=yes&inc=25&order=down&sort=date&pos=0&view=a&head=b&box=Inbox public service announcement by former world heavyweight champion, Layman Brewster

I can post more of this if you want, or I can forward the email to anyone who wants it

Don't get me started on canned hunting....we have that in Minnesota (under the euphemism "game farms") and it's disgusting.

Basically, it's "hunting" for anyone who would consider it "sporting" to go out back of the barn and shoot a cow. And have the head mounted for the wall. Sheesh.
