It's a classic moment in GodSistah history!
I keep this in my house in a spot
where people see it first thing
when they come through the door!
Feel free to share
your classic Janis moments
here in this thread too...
I can't wait to see them!
;)

WAAA! Why the heck can't I insert a picture?
I'm pretty sure I made it small enough.
What the heck is the trick??
A couple of years back was the only time I've seen Janis perform, in Toronto, city of her marriage. It was a great thrill finally meeting her after so many years. Not only did I get a hug from her but also from Pat! Such lovely people. Oh, and it was a great show too! http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k267/deemark/Emoticons/biggrin.jpg

My loot from the evening, including a tag from JanisMania which I was unable to attend.
Unfortunately the only photo that I have of us both came out rather lousy, so here it is adapted with a tile effect.

Doesn't help, Dee....Janis still looks better than you. Though you must be standing on a box or something because she looks rather....er....short.

It would make a good picture for a sweater though..... :D :p

Also that tile effect photo would look excellent in needlepoint!
Funny you should mention that Ginny, because that's a future cross-stitching project I have in mind. Shhh ... don't tell Janis.

Janis has a certain way of making all her fans feel ten feet tall Dave – on the inside I mean. And how can I ever forget her first words to me? (shouting) "The Dee! It's about f***ing time!" http://i90.photobucket.com/albums/k267/deemark/Emoticons/biggrin.jpg

Needlepoint had occurred to me as well. Might look great on a pillow.
Janis' first words to me were rather ordinary, since she didn't know me from Adam: "hi Dave, I'm Janis--nice to meet you". I didn't know she was a hugger yet and so settled for a handshake, which seemed to disappoint her. Of course I learned why in short order.

My latest and greatest from the WFMA Odetta tribute in March, with Janis and "The Girls."

Oh Randy,
you never told us Rude Girl has a sister, a real twin, didn't you!?
Does she live in Nashville at Janis' home?

I think she did, Mimi, but I can't remember the exact details. Wasn't the evil twin meant to be an early birthday present?????

Mimi,
I made RG version 2.0 with the green booties like the ones Janis bought with the first money she ever earned from a paying gig. I was waiting for the original RG to come back in the mail from California, and when it looked like she wasn't going to make it back in time for me to take her to the concert, I made "lil sis" so I would not be empty-handed. The original RG made a dramatic last-minute arrival, so I took them both to the concert and gave Janis RG v. 2.0 as an early birthday present. Janis said she would keep her on the computer at home to serve as her muse while she writes her autobiography. When the original RG finishes her World Tour, she will join Janis and Lil Sis in Nashville.
