YUM!
The apple crop around here was severely damaged during our spring freeze after lots of warm weather, so the early apples that I prefer for pies are not plentiful. Most are very small, but the saving grace is that I don't have to peel them!
I made 2 pies yesterday, and I had to go and get some vanilla ice cream. I think there is some kind of law against having the 1st pie of the season without ice cream.
The crust was delightful, the apples had plenty of cinnamon and sugar, and it was still warm, so that the ice cream melted a bit.
Can you believe that Leslie called me a bad name  when I told her about my pie?? Seems it was late, and she hadn't had dinner, yet. Les, I'll tell you again--IT WAS DELICIOUS!!
Wendy, I hope you like apple pie! I will make more when you are here!
