Dave had hernia surgery last year, and this morning reinjured himself by sneezing. He now has a hernia again, and is at Hershey Medical Center. They haven't decided yet if he'll have surgery, or if they'll try some other approach. I just talked to him on the phone; he's pleasantly morphined, so I'm taking care of being upset for both of us (to make matters worse, at the moment he has no medical insurance). He has the car, the hospital is several miles away, and it's around 90 degrees outside. I just sent him distance Reiki, and that's about all I can do at the moment other than sit and wait to hear what's going to happen.

Your good thoughts, Rudie vibes, or prayers would be very much appreciated. Thanks in advance, dear friends.

Well, he's home. They ended up not doing anything to him except giving him Vicodin. He sees a surgeon on Thursday. He plans on going to work tomorrow.

Thanks, everyone. It means a lot to me to know you're all there for us. I love you guys! Consider yourselves hugged!:)

I'll keep you posted. Here's hoping he doesn't do anything reckless like -- well, sneezing...

I do hope everything falls into place on its own--it does happen. Meanwhile....owwweeeeee! And my sympathies. Mind, if you put good wishes in one hand and Vicodin in another....

He was much better today. He said it didn't hurt most of the day, and he didn't feel the need to take any pills till after dinner. He did go to work, and the day passed without incident. He's in bed now.

Friday morning he sees the surgeon -- it's just a consultation; he won't check into the hospital then -- and we find out what's what. Meanwhile, no black pepper and no laughing!

With all the Reiki, prayer and other kinds of healing people have been sending his way, it's no wonder he's feeling better. Thank you so much, good friends. :D

It can't hurt to have him stay on his back and put a couple of bricks under the legs at the foot of the bed. Sometimes it works....

All the best to Dave, Jack...and what's this crap about no more pepper??!!
How can one possibly exist without black pepper?
What does that have to do with getting over a hernia?
I can see it perhaps giving one's hemorrhoids a twist, but??...enlighten me, please!

Ahhh, duh...:p .... I usually ingest pepper, not inhale it; but I suppose accidents could happen. Thanks for the insight, darlin'!

Well, Dave will have surgery early in July. When he called to tell me, he called me "Nurse Jack," as I will be taking care of him bedridden at home for about a week. I told him I'll be renting "One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest" between now and then for ideas (I was just kidding, but oddly enough he didn't laugh:rolleyes: ).

Meanwhile, he feels fine. He's at work.

Thanks again for all the prayers and moral support, dear friends. I'll keep you posted.

(BTW, the black pepper thing was a reference to sneezing.)

Someone, someone must surely sell a Nurse Ratched costume. Of course, that might make him laugh.
