Is it me or have we all lost a bit of the fun and humor that this board has been? I for one personally suspect that certain Pirates that shall remain nameless from western Pennsylvania may in fact be responsible.... And that other Pirate Queens have taken certain board members hostage.... Not to mention names but has anyone noticed the lack of presense of our fiend the SAXMAN and others???

Could this possibly be REDJACKS FAULT?

Best to all

I don't know about you, I find that working on socials issues are fun and can and most of the time do make a difference. Maybe there needs to be a forum for humor only. "Just a funny little humorous comment." LOL
Peace, Darlene

But then maybe that's just boring old me!

Still...let me try poking RJ in the back [as they say in the latest Dee from Ottawa CD] and see if I feel any better after!

Couldn't possibly be the pirates....most seem to be a right jolly lot. Perhaps it's Janis Withdrawal....we've all got a Jones for Janis.

I consider myself a funny, fun loving individual. Still, I too have noticed an abundance of seriousness in most aspects of my life lately. I think it's just that the situation we're in at home and abroad has successfully inundated the mindset of the average American. Rightly so as these are frightening times on many levels, so now we just need to rectify it so we can return to "Happy Days.":)

Well, personally speaking, tonight was no fun at all. I opened my mail from another group I've been with for 7 years, only to find that the member who lived closest to me, in Kentucky, had been found dead in her bed...April 23rd!
...and her sister was just getting around to notifying those on the board.
We all decided that we will all send our mailiing list to other folks, sons, daughters, sisters, brothers, etc., so they can notify the board members, who have become as close as family over the years, if another one bites the dust, and not 3 weeks later! What a shocker that was...I'd just had lunch with Linda in January and gave her Christmas presents because I was her secret Santa, and stuff had arrived very late, and it was even later that we could manage a mutually agreeable date to lunch. Nice lady, retired librarian and docent at a local historical museum house, taught crochet and knitting.
She had an ulcer, begged off dinner with a friend, left church early, and quietly bled to death in her bed.
Very sad, tonight.

Sorry Bat, That must have been awful. To find out that a friend you knew well had died close to a month ago and to just find out. I am very sorry. I hope you and all the members on your board can morn your friend and remember all the great times you guys had.
Peace, Darlene

Is it me or have we all lost a bit of the fun and humor that this board has been?

I see no discernable difference in the atmosphere of these forums, other than some great new additions. I love seeing all the old Janis reviews and photos and the many new videos of her. Like Darlene, I also find serious discussions can be fun, at the level of enjoying reading the varied viewpoints and such. Tells me we are thinkers too, we Rudies.

Maybe it has to do with what a person finds fun. One person's fun is another person's dull. I've also read many funny jokes in the joke threads and I love Oak’s great photo creations and following the adventures of the travelling Rude Girl doll. That was a spark of near genius if you ask me.

Ummm, what was the question again?

Well, aside from a sharp inexplicable pain in my back, (muttering something about funk loving sistahs from the west coast) everything is good here. Just overworked with little time to really participate in all the shenanigans going on round here. I did get a visit from the Ghost of Farkles past, all over the hood of my jeep. Judging by the quantity, i'm guessing one of Farkles Turkey-vulture pals. Never a shotgun round when ya need one.

The fun is back? Well the board had to calm down at some point with everyone shifting into gear for summer. Besides, we were told to stop scaring the newcomers. Then again if they're scared by a few dragons and pirates and such they don't belong in the zoo...

Yeah, you tell em lil dragon! After all, we're mostly harmless... unless you haven't been fed recently and theres a tasty leg nearby.. I only get riled up when theres something to put on the bbq.. meat's meat and mans gotta eat! Eva's only dangerous if there's a shoe sale going on...

<scritching the dragon behind the ears>

I mean seriously, we're just a nice normal bunch here!

Nice bunch for sure!!
I haven't been around much just coz it seems there is so much going on in this household and with work, etc. Ex: My daughter - my baby - is graduating high school in just 3 weeks! OMG!
Anyway, it doesn't mean, for one moment, that I don't think of you all! Once school is over and the bus is parked (well ... except for the occasional "borrowing" by sister rose & hoops.....), I should find more time to stay in touch.
Didn't want anyone to think that the Rudie bus is out of commission.....
Love to all!!

I'll give the bus a good cleaning, after the rugrats are out for the summer, get the hot tub ready ;) , make sure sister rose & hoops still have their keys and then we're off!
Gotta get the Rudie bus rolling again for the summer season!! All of you new Rudies are in for one helluva ride. Without the Janis tour this year, though, you all need to come up with some great destinations for our summer travel!

YELLOW RUDIE BUS - CHAPTER III

based on Yellow Submarine
by Lennon & McCartney

So ...

Janis went to write a book
And she said it was about her life
And we wonder if she’ll tell
Of adventures with her dear wife

In New Jersey she was born
On a chicken farm she sang and played
Then one day the FBI
Infiltrated where chickens laid

Mrs Rock bring the Yellow Rudie Bus
No need to make a fuss, just hop aboard with us
Mrs Rock drives the Yellow Rudie Bus
Yellow Rudie Bus, Yellow Rudie Bus

At 14 she wrote a song
It was published and it was a hit
But some said, “Hey kid that’s wrong!”
But she made a name in spite of it

Mrs Rock get the Yellow Rudie Bus
No need to make a fuss, just hop aboard with us
Mrs Rock drives the Yellow Rudie Bus
Yellow Rudie Bus, Yellow Rudie Bus

Now we wait so patiently
For our Janis to take the stage
She’ll be back before you know
And we’ll read her life on every page

Mrs Rock bring the Yellow Rudie Bus
No need to make a fuss, just hop aboard with us
Mrs Rock drives the Yellow Rudie Bus
Yellow Rudie Bus, Yellow Rudie Bus

Mrs Rock drives the Yellow Rudie Bus
Yellow Rudie Bus, Yellow Rudie Bus
Lots more room on the Yellow Rudie Bus
Yellow Rudie Bus, Yellow Rudie Bus

Glad you enjoyed that Denise. ;)

Besides, if the bus runs out of gas, we need a reserve fuel supply.
