As a city prosecutor said during closing arguments that Hilton deserved jail time, Hilton's mother Kathy laughed. When the judge ruled, Kathy Hilton, then blurted out: "May I have your autograph?"
Well at least we now have some idea of how she got so royally screwed up.
When the hell will those parenting licenses arrive?

Poor, poor, Paris, I was elated when I heard about the 45 days she will have to be in a jail cell.
Dee, I think the parenting licenses are a little to late for Paris. Let us hope she dosen't decide to have children.

Just amazed she didn't say: "that's hot".
Does anyone know exactly WHY Paris Hilton is famous? Did she win some sort of celebrity lottery or something?

I can just hear all the "news" items every day--
"Paris Hilton has been in jail for 17 hours. We will keep a close watch as she finishes the next 44 days and 7 hours. More at 11."
Does anyone know exactly WHY Paris Hilton is famous? Did she win some sort of celebrity lottery or something?
Maybe this will answer your question, DaveM:
"Hilton, heiress to the Hilton Hotel fortune, first gained notoriety for her hard partying as a teen. She attracted worldwide attention when a sex tape she made with a boyfriend was released on the Internet.
She stars in the reality-TV series, "The Simple Life," now in its fifth season, with Nicole Richie. She appeared in the 2005 film, "House of Wax" and recently finished filming "The Hottie and the Nottie." She also is a handbag designer and has a namesake perfume. "
In short, she's #$@#% rich! And irresponsible to boot.

Well, heck....I'll bet most of us could party hearty, invite some cameras when we've had too much of something, and then do a stint in rehab. And most of us might even have something intelligent to say to the cameras.
Who wants to do the sex tape for the Internet? Being celibate for the time being, I'm not really qualified.
There are plenty of rich people in the world whose names are never well-known at all. Perhaps stupid rich people are in such a great minority that they stand out somehow--I don't know.
I don't even want to think about, comment on, or ask for an explanation of the Kennedys.
Most of the old rich had a sense of Noblesse Oblige, (after their parents skinned someone to get where they are)...their kids, unfortunately, often take after Grandpa.

Good point, Bat.
I do long for the good old days when those in the creative community became famous for having some sort of talent rather than for the utter lack of any. That is, I at least hope for a world in which fame is a form of merit pay for extraordinary ability. It's never been 100% true and never will be, but I can hope, can't I?
Surely, Janis deserves to be more of a household word than Paris Hilton. On the other hand, I'm not sure she'd want that sort of attention.
According to Dr. Martin Pratt of Brandine University, and Dr. Benjamin Staines of the Center for the Institute of Studies, hair bleaching causes brain damage (http://www.uncoveror.com/bleaching.htm). Hydrogen peroxide, the key ingredient, will seep into the skull, and kill brain cells.
"We have all heard the jokes about dumb blonds, and I wondered if they were really all dizzy," said Dr. Pratt. "I decided to do a scientific study. I met many blonds who matched the stereotype, and other blonds who clearly did not. It was not long before I noticed an uncanny pattern. Natural blonds were not dumb or dizzy at all. Many of them were highly intelligent, coordinated and sensible. Bleach blonds demonstrated negative traits like being dim-witted, vain, shallow, gullible, and generally dizzy. I had a colleague of mine, Dr. Staines, perform studies to confirm my findings, and he did. Bleach blonds are dumb because they suffer from peroxide poisoning.
