View Full Version : Thanks to all who came to the UK LRC
I have just returned home from the Barns where we held the UK LRC. They were booked for a week so Lynda and I stayed on and relived the concert each evening! Thanks to all those who stayed at the accommodations for leaving them so clean and tidy, although I did have to spend an hour this morning returning all the cutlery, crockery and glasses to the correct units!!
Without Anne this weekend would not have been possible. I am indebted to her for all the administrative work she did to get people to the venue and for the “negotiations” with Song’s family which enabled her to be with us at the concert.
It was such fun to meet all the UK Rudies and thank you all for the presents you brought for me. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as Lynda and I did.
Thanks to Anne and Mike UK for their excellent reviews of the concert and to all the others who have posted about the weekend. It was made all the more enjoyable by the presence of so many Rudies.
And finally my greatest THANKS to Janis for agreeing to come to Offham to sing for us. It was an experience which moved us all and truly something we will never forget. The only thing to surpass it will be another LRC on Janis’ next UK tour!!

Hi, Rowy and Lynda,
It was a pleasure to be there. The surroundings, the atmosphere, the company were all wonderful, (shame about the oven), and I wouldn't have missed it for the world.
Thank you for allowing us to share in your celebrations, and Rowy, you can be 60 as many times as you wish if every birthday brings Janis to you.
Take care,

Thank you very much for helping me realise my dream of contributing to a Living Room Concert.
Now, can we repeat it for the next Janis Ian LRC you're organising?
I'm serious. Please add my name to next year's list. Thank you.

Rowy, you're the one who deserves the thanks. I'm so grateful to you for allowing me to be part of your celebrations. It was wonderful to meet you and all the other UK rudies (and Chet, Marjan, Anna and Songdragon - honorary members all!).
I thought it was a fantastic setting for the event and Anne organised everything so well. And thanks too to Pete for the feast.
I'll be at the Queen Elizabeth Hall on 2 May, with my partner and a friend who has never seen Janis before. We'll be in row D, right in the middle. Hope to see you and Lynda there.
Maybe we can organise an LRC before too long...

Got to agree with the comments that it is us that should be saying thanks. Julie and myself still can't believe we had such a magical afternoon, even though I had a lump in my throat for most of the concert. It was well worth all the effort of keeping the secret untill it was her birthday a good 6 months or more after ther initial announcement of the LRC. It was also nice to see all the other fans there as well. We saw Chet on Brighton pier the day after and she was still beaming then. On a sad note I was caught on camera on another thread, I am the old git to the right of songbird :o .

Hello Rowy and Lynda
What a fabulous time we had. The Barns were the perfect setting for the concert. Seeing Janis close up, singing just for us was fantastic.
Meeting up with other Janis fans was a treat and we hope we meet again at a future concert and/or the next LRC - keep us in mind won't you?
Best wishes from Sue and Jak - 2 of The Stable girls ;)
