I was handed an invitation today as soon as I walked through the Office door.

It's for the Volunteer's Week Certificate Ceremony on 7th June at the City Chambers, and is a big thankyou for all the work I have done over the past 15 months :) Something to look good on my CV at LAST :)

This has come just in time to help me celebrate our Silver Wedding on 12th June and my nth birthday the day before that :) AND the Quarter Peal is booked for June 10th at St Cuthbert's. I did that last night at the Practice

Don't be nervous. All will be well, you deserve the recognition.

I'll post the links when I get them, Ben. Jo REALLY LOOKS AFTER her volunteers :) I'll get my hair done on the morning before the ceremony :) I can justify this expense :p

I had a lovely email from her this afternoon.... :)

Me again, well it's the Ceremony tonight  .... nervous...

There WILL be photographs, and people won't stop talking for the rest of the year, I have no doubt.... still nervous

Just about to go and get my hair done.

So I survived it. Photographs when I get them. Here's the Certificate

Isn't it great to get Certificates Suitable For Framing? Have often wondered how many someone like Janis must acquire--certain organizations love to give out awards in the hope that one will donate time or money.

Mind, you earned this one, annabel.

There's a way us volunteers can say thankyou to the Organisation without actually sending a thankyou card, although I'm doing that too :)

http://www.investinginvolunteers.org.uk/

this is much more than just a thankyou card. If anyone can read through it and help me with the form that would be

And a year on from the Award Certificate last year, I get another unexplained Volunteer Certificate from the Dove Centre, where I go and use computers when I'm not busy with anything else. When I asked what I had actually DONE to deserve it they said "Nothing ..... yet!!!!" Fine, can we keep it that way please as I go there to play on the computers.....!!!!! :D I'll scan it in on Monday.

annabel, i just realised that the post started last year and took place mostly last year. then i couldn't figure out why i hadn;t seen it before and realized i was in the hospital at the time. it's weird that the dates coinsided exactly!

Noel, I didn't really know you then. It's OK. I only resurrected the thread because it's becoming quite a habit with organisations. Yes, I deserved last year's but this year the whole thing is meaningless, because I haven't actually done anything (and don't intend to) that warrants this. They're trying to make me older than I really am and I don't go there! Some of the old folk are in wheel chairs (I don't intend to be) but it's good to know there is something there for my old age..... when it happens.... :)

Besides which I've enough on my plate without adding this to it.... Call me ungrateful if you like, but the £6 annual membership includes use of this computer :)
