According to USA Today (see http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/techinnovations/2006-04-19-anti-ad-skipper_x.htm ) - you could be forced to watch commercials rather than Tivoing them away. Could pay a fee to avoid them though. Technology we don't need!

Well Hoops, originally the idea of taxes should be that the money goes to things we do want. Like good roads, social security, dams and dykes around cities like New Orleans. Things like that. So taxes to me aren't all bad. Some of them are really stupid and unneccesary, but some are not.

And then this technology. I really can't see any good in this. It's only stupid and unneccesary.

I agree Eva- taxes exist for a reason- free health care for everyone, hospitals, roads, unemployment benefit....

we may resent paying for it, but one day we might need it...
