I found this great station www.pandora.com which, if you tell it what artists you like will play other music like it - it really works! So told it I like Janis and now I have my own Country station. The down side is that to get it to work you have to have a US zip code, so after a few minutes on the Net I became GerryinNebraska.

Qusetion is - does Janis get royalties from this?

Yes, she does, at least according to Pandora. They recently sent out an email to all their listeners to contact their elected officials to kill proposed legislation that will triple the liscensing fees for internet radio operations and effectively put them all out of business - the commercial broadcasters are no doubt behind this effort.

Janis posted the link to the Pandora site a while back, that is when I started listening to it. It is great, and if you DO enjoy it, especially you Yanks on the board - please do contact your federal representatives, but DON'T just cut and paste the blurb Pandora sends out. You will be much more effective if you send a personal communication.
