I found this picture and know Janis played here but haven't found any shows before 2004. If you were here before 1983 can you please tell me when? I thought I'd start a thread with pics of places where Janis has played. The 2004 show was sold out.

I'll find a picture or take one of The Queen's Hall for this thread :)
Thanks, Roady

If I remember well Manchester Anne made some pictures of the entrance of 'De Kleine Komedie' where Janis played in Amsterdam. They can be found in the touralbums Chet has on her website.

I'm pretty sure Janis did not play Whelans before 2004. It was just a once off to my knowledge.

I know the day was April 7. I think the year was 1996, possible 1997:

Amy, did you see Janis at these shows? Lucky you, if you did! As you know I haven't had the pleasure of seeing Janis live but she did perform at the Paradise Lounge, Boston in 1980, right across the street from my office

I've just come back from taking a picture of the Queen's Hall and I've even emailed it to myself, but it hasn't come through yet. It might come through later on, or I could email it to myself again  These pics are great :)

Yes.. I saw Janis at both of those venues, which is why I remember the dates... One was our birthday, and the other was for my first anniversary with my last ex...
I also saw her at a place in Burlington called The Club Metronome earlier in the 90's.. not sure what year.. but after 93... I was unable to find a picture...
...those of course are NOT the only places: Jordan Hall, Passim, Cafe Lenna, Tupelo Music Hall, and the venue we all went to in Framingham last year... that makes 8.. I think I am missing one or 2..
April 17, 2006; Duke of Yorks Cinema in Brighton, UK
April 27, 2006; De Kleine Komedie in Amsterdam, The Netherlands (picture with DavidUK)
May 7, 2006; The Lowry in Salford, UK
May 11 in Holmfirth (name of the theather???)
I can't upload them somehow (it says 'invalid file') The pictures can be found on www.chetscorner.com/gallery Look under Janis Ian and there you will find the FINB 2006 tour. Then look in Manchester Annes's albums.

Here are the photos I was talking about yesterday. How appropriate as it was April 20th 2006, and what an amazing Concert it was :)

Oh nice photos Oak. Wish I had seen her more than just once to date :) Last year there was alot of HOOHAH over the future and funding of the Queen's Hall. The Council tried to palm us off by wasting money and building us a brand new hall in a totally inaccessible part of the City (for me at any rate) as the Queen's Hall is virtually door-to-door for me on the bus.

Luckily we won this one, and it will close after this year's Edinburgh for refurbishment. (New toilets I think), but go to the Website if you want to know more.

I don't think any of us attended but Janis was at a party here in 1977-
DOLLY PARTON opened nearby at the Bottom Line. In attendance were the aforementioned Jagger (who does get around), John Belushi, Candlce Bergen, Lily Tomlin, Phoebe Snow, Tommy West (of Cashman & ... ),Robert Duvall, Eric Idle, Patti Smith and Janis Ian. The party afterwards at Windows on the World, over 100 floors up at the World Trade Center, drew 550 people (only 250 had been planned for) included additional luminaries' like Terry 'Southern and Olivia" Newton-John. Much to the frustration of the many journalists in attendance, there weren't any good fights. From: RANDOM NOTES: by Charles M Young “The Independent” May 27, 1977
