this weekend is a BIG one for me.... Friday night is when I see Kathy Mattea and then Saturday is when I see Bonnie Raitt.....
I have been in contact with one of Bonnie's people and Bonnie has given me the all clear to drop my quitar off at the venue for her to sign at her leisure and then I will pick it up at the meet and greet........ they apparently only allow picture taking during the meet and greet....so I am very lucky to be given this opportuntiy of getting my quitar signed before hand... I so very excited I don't know that I will be able to sleep ..... thanks for listening..... I will post all happenings after sat... thanks....;-) Jenny

Have a good time. Be sure to take Bonnie's guitar home after the concert instead of your own. Oh, of course I mean the other way around...

Alright, I just have to ask...how DOES one get in contact with one of (insert artist's name of your choice here ________'s) people? How do you even know who these people are? Ooooh, I wanna know!
I hope you have a wonderful time!!

Jenny seems to know important people in high places....or how does that saying go anyway?
Jenny may seem shy and unasuming when you meet her but we all know better!!
Have a FABULOUS time at the concerts/meet and greet. We want a full report!

I can relate Jenny, also on a musical high.
Seen that something wild of a singer Maia Sharp this past Saturday evening. Monday night went to see the crystal voiced Patty Griffin. She has a great band this tour.
Mainly, what I love about going to concerts in which folks actually go to listen to the music is that for a few hours life's problems are forgotton when the communal joy of music is present.
Now looking forward to the free summer concert line-up to be announced Friday on WYEP.
Have a wonderful time Jenny.

Big weekend for me also, but not just because of music. The 75th annual general meeting of the SACR takes place on Saturday, the big dinner, which I'm NOT going to, and lots of ringing :) Also on at St Mary's Cathedral is an all-day music marathon. I might look in for a bit of it :D

I was told to include a short note to Bonnie and put it in my quitar case... I have been trying for one week to write that note.... I am trying to keep it short...say what I want to say..... and not babble..and I can't even get that done...... As my adventure is getting closer I find myself getting more and more nervous... the same feeling I got when meeting Janis for the first time... All I hope is that I just don't look stupid .....my luck I probally won't even be able to speak....
A little secret..... I plan on wearing one of Janis' stage shirts...... the multi colored one....
I will fill you in once it is over...............wish me luck

Jenny--try to keep in mind what it was like talking to Janis after you'd had a bit of practice. Trust me....you'll do fine. And even if you do get burbly and sputtering, Ms. Raitt will have seen it before, so have no fear.
